The Unplanned Pregnancy

Ch. 19

Zak was almost arriving to school. The song playing on the radio in his car ended and the traffic report came on.                                 

"I hope everyone is having a good morning here in the 323! This is 10 News traffic broadcaster Travis Mitchell speaking. There's a backup on Chester Road from a severe car accident that happened not to long ago. A 18-wheeler collided into the car making it catch into flames. The man who was driving the 18-wheeler said that his brakes all of a sudden stopped working, making him lose control of the truck. We do know there was a pregnant woman who was driving the car. Right now we don't know what condition she is in now nor do we know if the two drivers where being distracted while driving. We'll update you as soon as possible on this report..."

"Gosh, that's terrible." Zak said as he listened closely to what he was hearing on the radio, until his focus was cut off from his cell phone ringing. He glanced to see who was calling, and it was your father. He was surprised, but he quickly answered with a smile. "Hey, Mr.-"

He was cut off to hearing y/n's father voice crack. "Y/n is in the hospital."

His smile disappeared and his heart immediately dropped. He was scared to know what happened. "W-what do you mean?" He stuttered as he tried focusing back on the road. 

"She was in a car crash." He replied. Zak froze, not knowing what to say. He couldn't believe she was in an accident. And, plus, what the traffic broadcaster said about the state the car is in made Zak's eyes start to water. "What hospital?" He croaked. Your father told him where, and Zak made a quick U-turn and sped off to the hospital. 

His mind was going faster than he was speeding. 'What was she doing?' He thought as he wiped a tear from his cheek. 'She couldn't of been on her phone because she doesn't text while driving. God, I hope my girls are okay.'

Zak arrived at the hospital minutes later. He quickly rushed in and immediately spotted your father, including his mom, Aaron, and April. His mom ran to him and embraced him into hug, crying hysterically into his chest. It immediately made Zak think that you were not okay or the baby. "It's horrible, Zak..so horrible." 

"What happened to her?" He asked, trying to stay calm as possible and not explode. His mother was reluctant to say it, so she backed away. 

"What happened to her?!" He repeated, tears pouring from his eyes. Aaron put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down. "We don't know what condition she is in right now, but we've heard that it's very severe."

Zak could not even think straight. His anxiety was building up, which Aaron could see and helped him sit down. Zak covered his face, chanting that he needed to see her. "You'll see her soon, Zak." Aaron comforted him, patting his back. 

Every time a nurse or a doctor would walk by Zak's stomach would turn, scared if they were going to stop and tell them how you were doing. As time passes by Zak started thinking of the 'what ifs'. What if she's severely injured? What if the baby was severely injured?...What if they didn't both lived? He tried to push the thought out of his head, but he couldn't help but think it. The thought of that alone made his leg bouncing increase. 

The rest of your family flew in to come see you, as well as Zak's side of the family. Everyone was at the edge of their seats wanting to know what is happening to you. "How long is it going to take to find out what happened to her?!" Your aunt said in an impatient tone. 

Your father was pacing back and forth the white marble floor, lost in thought until she spoke. He gave her a lazy shrug. "I don't know. But I'll wait as long as I need to."

"Shouldn't they have at least come in and update us on how she is?" April spoke as she had her head laying on Aaron's shoulder. 

"That's what I'm not understanding." Zak said. "It's really starting to piss me off."
