reckless, no headlights

driving too fast outside the lines.

reckless, hand in the fire,

no one below while I'm walking on the wire.

reckless, all alone,

my heart is broken on the side of the road.

i could fix it if I head home

but you ain't here to drive me reckless

We won our game 4-0. I had two goals and an assist from taking a corner kick. Sophia happened to be the one to finish the corner kick. The assists on my goals came from Kiera and Raegan, and the other goal was scored by Ellie. My performance earned me another MVP and a lot of praise from everyone around me.

Before I left, I organized the equipment and locked the closet. When I got back into the changing area, everyone was gone except for someone washing their hands. I finished packing up my stuff that was littered over the locker room and checked to make sure nobody left anything of importance. I clocked a pair of white Air Force One's, but before I could text the group chat about it, someone stopped me.

"Nice work today, Samantha." Sophia said, opening her locker. "Keep this up and you'll make the all state team again."

"Thanks Fletch. You're playing great too, but I don't expect anything less." I looked over at her and the way her brown hair still looked perfect after she took it out of her ponytail. I admired the way her jersey fit her every curve, the way her shorts were rolled up perfectly, and the way her cheeks were still noticeably red. "My question is, how do you always look so hot doing it?"

It's just harmless flirting, right?

"You should be asking yourself that one." She smirked, taking a few steps closer to me. "You look perfect in school, you look perfect playing soccer, you look perfect in the morning..." I stepped towards her and snaked my arm around her waist, and she closed the gap between us.

The lasted of her lips was familiar. The feeling of her hands on my body was familiar. I loved the way she made my mind go crazy as she pushed me up against the locker. I loved the way she said my name as I kissed up her neck after she'd taken her shirt off. I made my way back up to her lips and threw my jersey to the side.

Suddenly, we heard the door open and we jumped apart, but not in nearly enough time.

"Locker room hook up? Keeping it classy for sure." Hannah snickered as she bent down to pick up the Air Force One's that I'd noticed earlier. "Forgot my shoes. Thanks for letting me know that they were in here, by the way. I really appreciate it." She rolled her eyes but her signature smirk remained. "Anyways, go on. Sorry for interrupting."

The two of us were too stunned to speak. We watched her leave the locker room, then looked back at each other.

"I thought everyone left." I whispered, grabbing the jersey on the ground next to me.

"Me too, Samantha. Me too." Sophia grabbed the other jersey. "My mom's cooking tonight, so I should get going."

"Yeah. Me too." I watched as she put on her school shoes and put her slides back in her locker. "Do you have a sweatshirt?" I asked quietly.

"Samantha, what's on my neck?" She dropped everything to face me. I had my gaze fixated on the ground, my cheeks bright red.

"Nothing that can't be hidden with a sweatshirt." I mumbled.

"I don't have one." She sighed. "I'll just have to slip by my parents. It'll be fine."

"Take mine. I always leave one in my locker." I opened my locker and she took it out and threw it over her head. "Goodbye Sam." She grabbed her bag and walked out, leaving me alone in the changing room.
