"Oh fuck me." I sighed, stood infront of the gates to 'Ericsons Boarding School For Troubled Youth.' At least it wasn't packed with students like my old school, i had heard that this place was alot smaller in numbers. Plus, i was a senior so i only had to tolerate it for a year.

"It won't be that bad honey," My mom smiled warmly, placing a reassuring hand on my back but i was quick to shake it off.

"How would you know? You're not the one being shipped here by your parents over something that wasn't even your fault." I groaned, rotating my head away from her.

"Clementine we love you. But this behaviour of yours, it can't go on." My mom frowned.

"So what? When your daughters struggling you just ship her off? You just don't want to deal with her anymore when that is literally, your damn job." I shot back. They knew i was struggling, but i also knew i was making their lives a living hell with my habits.

My mom took a shaky breath, steadying herself before calmly replying. "This school has resources. You need help, help that we can't give."

"Whatever." I groaned, starting to walk closer to the entrance. At that moment, being in the school seemed better than being with her.

"Do you want me to come with?" My mom called out and i stopped in my tracks, sighing, before i turned to look at her. She looked devastated, you could see it in her eyes. She didn't want to send me across to a school hours away but what choice did she have?

"No." I shook my head, letting my eyes drift to the ground. "Im fine."

She frowned again, glancing away for a moment to steady herself. "That's okay," She paused as she made her way over to me, wrapping her arms around me when she did. I made a half-assed attempt at reciprocating it. "We love you. So much. Call us, everyday okay?"

"Yeah, sure." I nodded, starting to pull out of the hug.

"You better call us." She half-heartedly smiled, trying to hide her tears as i started to back away slowly.

"I will, i will." I shrugged, turning on my heels. "Bye mom."

I started to walk, my bags tucked securely in the grip of my hands. I made it through the gates and into what looked to be a courtyard, massive, modern yet old looking buildings surrounding it.

"Clementine Marsh?" A voice called out from my left as i was looking around.

I looked and saw a man, looked to be late 50's, dressed professionally, suit, tie all the works, and a small, thin patch of hair on his head. He was accompanied by 1 younger looking boy. Dreadlocks that fell just past his ears, brown eyes, skin that was slightly darker than mine, he was dressed comfortably, hoodie and sweatpants, and lastly, a goofy smile.

"Mhm." I hummed, watching as both grew closer.

"Im Mr.Ericson." The man in the suit, Ericson, smiled, turning to the boy who accompanied him after. "And allow me to introduce Louis. He'll be bringing you to your dorm and up to my office after."

"You're what? The principal or something?" I asked, watching as Louis slightly raised his eyebrows, looking like he was slightly shocked while Ericson kept a smile on his face.

"I am the principal, yes." He smiled. "Now, Louis please take Clementine here to her dorm and to me, after."

"Sure sir." Louis nodded, walking past him and beside me, facing the other way i was. "You want me to take your bags?"

I shook my head and Louis shrugged. I turned on my heels and trailed behind Louis, already hating this place. We walked closer and closer to a building, which i found out later to be the dorm building.
