I shut my dorm door closed behind me and slung my bag strap over my back, seeing students flooding the corridors. All were talking or laughing, keeping to themselves until some of them spotted me. They either smiled at me or gave dirty looks. All while i just kept my face expressionless. I made my way to my first class after that, US history. I had my airpods in the whole way there, through the courtyard to the building, up the stairs, through some corridors until i turned the corner to the corridor where history was, seeing students gathered around in a circle in the middle of the hallway. I lifted my right hand up to my ear, pulling my airpod out, hearing chants and shouts as soon as i did. Kids fighting on the first day?
I made my way up the corridor anyway and through the small gap students made to let other students who didn't want to see the fight, pass by, but, it gave me a clear view of the fight.
2 girls. One had blonde hair that fell just past her shoulders sort of styled into a wolfcut, piercing green eyes, an eyebrow piercing, a determined look on her face and a busted lip. Meanwhile the other, straight, brunette hair, ocean blue eyes, bleeding nose, and a smug look on her face which just seemed to agitate the blonde more. Unfortunately for me though, the fight was just ending as i was passing as there was another girl pulling the blonde away. Long, shiny, straight, red, hair, crystal blue eyes, nose piercing and an annoyed look on her face as she pulled the blonde. People from the crowd started to boo as the red haired girl urged the blonde away from the fight while i started to move again. Didn't seem like the fight was going to kick off again and, i had 5 more minutes to kill before class started so, i tipped to the bathrooms just up the corridor.
I dropped my bag outside the door and pushed open the door, seeing no one and all of the stalls empty. I grinned as i reached into my pocket, feeling around for my vape. I pulled it out of my pocket and made my way into a stall, locking the door behind me and slammed the toilet seat down. I sighed just after i had eased myself down onto the seat, ready to vape in peace when the bathroom door wooshed open and a feminine voice followed.
"What the fuck Vi? Seriously?" Her voice was more high pitched. It was coated in annoyance and worry too.
"Was i supposed to sit there and let her say what she said?" Who i assumed to be 'Vi' asked rhetorically. Her voice was raspy and deeper. And that was when i realised this was one of the girls who was fighting.
"No. You were supposed to walk away." The high pitched girl groaned.
"I wasn't going to walk away Soph. She had it fucking coming and you know that." Vi groaned.
"That doesn't matter. I get you're angry like, all the fucking time but you're gonna get kicked out if you keep this bullshit up. Sometimes i genuinely think you enjoy fighting for the thrill of it." Soph argued, causing me to raise my eyebrows slightly. Harsh.
"Wow, thanks." Vi said, sounding less calm and more hurt. And angry. Soph might've had a point when she said 'i get you're angry like all the fucking time'.
"Im serious. Go to class and stop this bull. If i hear your in another fight i will kick your ass myself." Shortly after, i heard the door woosh open and close again.
I scratched my eyebrow after i heard them leave. At least i got the aftermath since i didn't get to watch the fight. Still, Soph really had it out for Vi. I took one last drag of my vape and stood up, shoving it into my pocket before unlocking the stall door and swinging it open, seeing infact one of them hadn't left.
The one who was fighting, with the blonde hair and eyebrow piercing. It was Vi. She hadn't left. She was leaned over the sink vanity, a blue paper towel staining with blood pressed to her lip as she stared at me in the mirror. She didn't have any expression on her face, just like me. We held eye contact for a moment as i made my way to the door before i broke it and laid my eyes on the door.
