The next day, i was sat in 2nd period, chemistry. The teacher, Mrs. Johnson was an old bat but yet, she was really nice. Just wasn't sure why she hadn't retired yet. Sophie was in this class too, she was a few seats away from me but in the same row, she often glanced over to me, just smiling and occasionally rolling her eyes over the fact we were in class. Now, we were around halfway through the class and Mrs. Johnson had just handed out some sheets for us to work on which i really didn't want to do so, i figured a bathroom break would do me a world of good. Or should i say vape break.
"Are you alright dear?" Mrs. Johnson smiled as i stood in front of her desk, her voice quivering slightly.
"Yeah uh, can i go to the bathroom please?" I asked, glancing at the door before back at her.
"Of course." She smiled, grabbing a sticky note from her stack of them at the corner of her desk.
She handed me the sticky note she had previously scribbled on and off i went. I took my sweet time walking to the bathroom, after all, i didn't need to go i was just looking to get out of class. There was no one in the corridors, didn't come across a single soul until i made it to the bathroom. As i pushed the door open and looked up from my phone i saw Brody and Emily. Now Emily was about the same height as Brody, but she still made herself the bigger person as she stood over Brody, who was pushed up against the sink vanity with her eyes directed to the floor, shaking slightly and, panting. I narrowed my eyebrows at Emily with a confused look on my face as i locked my phone and shoved it into my pocket. All while she glared at me.
"What are you doing?" I asked, still a confused look on my face.
"Nothing. Now fuck off." Emily spat.
I chuckled slightly at her attempt to intimidate me while her face twitched with anger. "You're such a bitch, god."
"What did you say?" She asked, her face still twitching with anger as Brody's panting become more rapid and louder.
I sighed dramatically as i rolled my eyes. "Im sick of you all acting like you didn't hear me. You heard me just fine, you're just trying to piss me off which is not working."
As i was speaking, she stepped away from Brody, to my success, and towards me. I noticed earlier on Brody clearly had an anxiety disorder so getting Emily away from her would've been the best thing i thought.
"Why don't you just fuck off." Emily growled, growing closer and closer to me.
"Because taunting you is-" When i started my sentence, i noticed her fists became clenched and when i got to the word 'taunting' i watched as she drew her arm back in a less noticeable way to hit me.
Such a shame she made it noticeable enough though. Shame for her i mean. I ducked as she swung, completely dodging her punch while she lost her balance, her body following her fist. While i had the advantage and was still ducked, i turned my body, and shouldered her in her abdomen, sending her back stumbling.
"You missed." I grinned. I really couldn't help myself. De-escalating the situation would've been the best answer but my body was pumping with adrenaline and my blood was boiling. I hadn't gotten into a fight in so long but when i did, i became reckless.
Obviously, this didn't de-escalate the situation in the slightest. She spun around and charged at me, her face coated with anger. This time, her fists were moving faster than her mind and she was throwing as many punches as she could.
I managed to deflect a few which just pissed her off more while i enjoyed seeing her so riled up, until, one of her swings landed on my cheek and i certainly felt the pain of the impact. The pain sparked a surge of anger inside of me after that and i clenched my fists tighter, my anger slipping.
