AS BLAIR WATCHED DYLAN, SHE swore he was moving in slow motion. everything around her was quiet, and she could hear herself swallow her spit that was forming in her mouth way too quickly.

he ran his hands through his hair, grass and dirt on his jersey. dylan's perfect jaw moved as he talked to a teammate, his white teeth visible.

dylan grabbed his water bottle, opening it and starting to drink from it.

blair could see his adams apple moving, and then he poured some in his hair and shook it out.

"oo! that's a hard hit for number 67 on the opposing team!" the announcer said, snapping blair out of thoughts.

"defense stay strong it's their ball, defense but not for long!" the cheerleaders cheered.

"defense stay strong it's their ball, defense but not for long!" they said once more.

irene walked over to blair, grabbing her arm. "you okay?"

"yeah, yeah why?" blair said, following dylan as he got off the field.

"ever since halftime you-" irene realized blair wasn't even listening, so she followed her best friend's eyeline.

"you're watching dylan! i knew you weren't over him like you said you were." irene said.

"how could i be. look at him!" blair said. irene and blair watched dylan, until irene shook her head.

"ryan's hotter."

"well i don't know maybe cause he's actually your boyfriend. dylan isn't into me." blair said.

"with the way he was taking to you today. i think he might be." irene nudged blair.

"shut up you."

"oh my gosh rene look he looks worried talking to ryan. and rubbing his knee. do you think he's injured? do you think he's okay?" blair said, going on her tiptoes to see better.

"ryan i am not okay." dylan said to his best friend. "i feel so guilty, i didnt mean to say that to her last night."

"please you've told me like 4 million times already." ryan said.

"dude just go with the plan, it works even better if we win." he said again.

"by the looks of it we are, see it's all gonna work out."

dylan shrugged off ryan's hand that was patting his back, side eying him.

"it better."

"hoffman! you're on again, they're missing a wide." the football coach said.

dylan sighed, "if you go over there you won't be playing in the homecoming game. he said." dylan spoke.

"you know coach forgets." ryan said. "or he knows he needs me. see ya." dylan said getting up.
