IT WAS THE FIRST WEEK OF december, meaning winter was officially here. addy, blair's little sister was always prone to getting sick, so blair was heavily focused on keeping her sister healthy.
soccer was over, and so was cheer, so blair was back to getting home on time and before her little sister.
blair was currently in second period, her first class with dylan finishing thirty minutes ago. she had a horrible headache and body aches, and all she wanted to do was sleep.
dylan had asked her about it last period, but blair said she was okay. she knew she wasn't, but she never got sick because if she did it would ruin anything. it just had to be a quick pain, like growing pains or something.
despite that, blair was on her way to the nurse, one head on her forehead and another on her stomach. she felt like she was going to be sick, and immediately had to lay down.
coincidentally dylan was walking in the hallways on his phone, not wanting to be in spanish class. he was just going to take a lap around the floor, and then go back to sleep and pretend he wanted to be bilingual.
he caught blair as she walking, running over to her seeing her state. blair jumped back when his hands touched her, calming down when she saw the face of her boyfriend.
"are you okay?" dylan said, looking at her in worry. "i lied in science. i'm not okay. i actually think i'm about to hurl."
"damn it blair. why didn't you tell me." dylan said. blair didn't respond, turning and going the staircase.
"i'm coming with you." dylan said. "you need to go to class." blair spoke quickly.
"forget class. i need to make sure you get to the nurse without fainting or letting out your body fluids." dylan said.
"can't you just say the real word." blair said as they walked down the steps. "i hate it too much. i'll cry." dylan said.
blair shook her head, walking with her boyfriend to the nurse. when they got there blair told that lady at front her symptoms, and then she was told to lay down.
dylan asked to stay with her, and surprisingly they said he could but they had to call his teacher.
blair layed down in a small corner, curtains around her. (this is how the nurses was in my school i loved it)
her eyes were closed, and dylan just ran his hands through her hair, reminding him of when she fainted at cheer practice.
the nurse entered the area, looking at blair. "the first person on your call list is your mom do you want me to call her honey?" she asked.
blair immediately opened her eyes, shaking her head no. "how about dad?" the nurse asked. blair shook her head again, and the nurse looked at her clipboard.
"what about ms. philips. a jade phillips?" she said. "that would be great." blair said with a slight smile on her face.
the nurse left, and blair rolled over to her side so she could face dylan. "this is so bad dyl, i literally cannot afford to get sick." she said, holding his hand in comfort.
"why not? addy?" dylan asked. "yes, she can take of herself mostly, but she can't cook, and i can't afford takeout daily, she's also an athlete, a young one at that. this is horrible."
"do you take vitamins? whatever bug you have will go away much faster." dylan said.
"usually i do but addy is so prone to getting sick i've been working extra hard to make sure she takes hers, i think i forgot to take mine." blair sighed.
"blair i know you're focused on caring for your sister, but you need to care for you too." dylan said. "nobody has time for that dyl." blair said.
he just sighed to himself, blair muttering in annoyance. "i cannot be sick. everything is going to be all over the place and-"
"and you need to relax. you're sick blair, whether you like it or not. if you stress it's going to make it worse. i'll handle it."
"you'll handle it. dylan this is my personal life, there's no possible way for you to handle it." blair said.
"but there is. i'm your boyfriend, it's like my job to handle things that stress you out. i will handle it. stop stressing." dylan said, and that stressed blair out even more.
"blair, ms. philips is here."

"you're not staying home for a week because your girlfriend is sick." lissa said to her son sternly.
"mom please! this is urgent, it's bad!" dylan said, his phone open on the message from blair that read "went to the doctor and i'm out for a week."
"you know i'm here for you having a girlfriend, but you're not at all allowed to miss school for her are you crazy!" lissa said.
"she's sick. someone needs to take care of her, and addy too. don't you like addy!" dylan said.
"that's their parents job dylan not yours." lissa said.
"her parents don't do anything for them, only their freaking dad who's all the way in japan!" dylan blurted out in anger, freezing when he realized what he had said.
"w-what?" lissa said, shocked. "i didn't say anything." dylan quickly said.
"her mom doesn't care for her? her dad is all the way in japan." lissa said.
"she only has irene and i mom. please let me go and help her, i want to be there for her. if someone's there to take care of her sister she'll be less stressed. her life is so sick and i just want to be the light at the end of the tunnel for her." dylan said, starting to tear up.
"she's alone, alone and sick. please. please. please. all i want to do it make her happy." dylan said, and his mom brought him close and gave him a motherly hug.
she rocked them side to side, dylan crying in her arms. he had never expressed how bad he felt for his girlfriend, he could tell she was getting better but he couldn't help but cry for her.
"four days. only four days." lissa said slowly. "really?" dylan said his eyes lighting up.
"you better make sure all of the work is done, they won't be teaching new material because there's testing next month. one missing assignment maximum. that's me being nice." she continued.
"thank you!" dylan said, squeezing his mom and then wiping his tears.
"ah ah let go. i need to make her some soup and then make a meal for you and addy." lissa said as she looked to grab pots.
"you're letting me sleepover?" dylan said, getting excited again.
"for two days, the other two you're coming home at night." lissa said.
"you're the best mom ever." dylan said as he rushed upstairs to pack a bag. "believe me, with everything i do for you kids i know." lissa said, shaking her head
