"Dem a say dem a try track the transactions weh mek but every time dem fi come up wid sumn, everything just disappear" Shane explained to me.

I heaved a sigh, trying my best not to cry at work.

"It's like the people dem weh dweet know weh dem a do and no waa nobody trace nothing back to dem" He continues.

"Okay, thanks for looking into it for me." I offered him the best smile I could muster before turning back to the work at hand.

"But mi can call somebody else and talk to them bout yuh situation so that dem can prevent yuh account from being hacked again." He offered.

I almost forgot Shane came from a wealthy family with connections.

I wanted to decline, but I remembered a conversation Ryan and I were having a few weeks before he disappeared.

FLASHBACK

He made a loud hiss before turning to look at me.

"Yuh gwaan like you one can do dis life by yuh self. Wah go happen when yuh nuh have no other option in life but fi turn to somebody fi help??? Yaa go seh yuh nuh waa dem help cause yuh 'independent'??? Mek mi tell yuh sumn, yuh see life? It funny bad cause you can deh pon yuh pinnacle today and deh a grung pon yuh face as yuh blink so stay deh bout yuh nuh waa nobody help and yuh can do things by yuh self." He lectures before turning to go upstairs.

Sigh....

"Tha would be nice. Thank you, Shane. " I smiled, accepting his offer.

"Anything fi yuh." He smiled before walking off to make the call.

As soon as it was lunch time, I made my way to my appointment with the bank, which was pointless because a wull heap a foolishness dem a tell mi. I still ended up leaving the bank with an empty account and pissed off more than ever. The only hope I had was Shane because he said he would talk to his friend about my account for me.

Shane and I were now having lunch in his car because he went to buy lunch while I was at the bank.

"Thank you for lunch today." I thanked Shane after finishing up my lunch.

"No problem." He smiles. "So I spoke to the hacker I told you I was gonna call and he say he should be able to fix your account by now and Thursday so I'm sure anybody that has been hacking your account won't be able to again." He adds.

"Are you sure?" I asked still a bit unsure about all of this.

"Yes. I mean, he is the best, so you can be rest assured. We soon get pay so I can assure you that your pay will be left untouched in your account. " He boasts.

"Thank you so much, Shane. I really appreciate it." I offered him a smile.

"You're welcome, Anaya." He smiled back.

"Why are you doing this for me, though?" I couldn't help but ask.

He stopped what he was doing and turned to look at me.

"Yuh know why Anaya," He sighs.

"Shane... seriously speaking, you're a really nice person and everything a woman would need in a guy, but I just got out of a somewhat complicated situation, so I'm really not looking towards entering another relationship so soon." I say, trying my best to explain.
