ANAYA'S P.O.V.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 25
ANTHONY'S GRADUATION
"Next we have Anthony Brown!"
"Wooooooooooo!!!" I screamed as my brother walked up to collect his certificates.
I am a very proud big sister watching my brother collect his certificates in Construction and Tiling. He didn't want to go to college but insisted that he wanted to learn a skill so as a family we supported his decision. I ended the video as he walked back to his seat and sat down.
"Yuh loud enuh gyal." Brit nudged me, then took up her water to drink.
The heat was something else.
"Yuh lucky let me enjoy my moment of being a big sis," I hissed, turning my attention back to the graduation at hand.

◇"Come nuh mek we take the likkle picture dem fi send mommy nuh big head bwoy," I said to a scowling Anthony.
Finally obliging, he stood beside, ready to take the pictures.
"And smile too," I nudged him.
Hissing his teeth, he did as was told, allowing Brit to take the pictures for us. Next, he took turns taking pictures with his girlfriend, then Brit and one with all of us. Immediately, I sent them to my mom and sister before they started calling my phone. We then waited as Anthony took some time to greet his former classmates and teachers.
We had wanted to spend the night out, but Anthony and Brianna requested to spend the evening celebrating together, so we grant them their request with a warning. After dropping them off, Brit and I decided to spend the rest of the evening at the Waterfront in Kingston.
"Mek we go down a Gloria's. Long fi eat some a dem steam fish, " I told Brit as we entered Kingston.
"Fi reeeeaaaaallll." She laughs.
After finding a parking space, we made our way up to the restaurant. I had to help Brit up the stairs because the weight baby boy is carrying isn't normal.
"Can't wait fi get this pickney out a me." She sighed as we reached the top of the stairs.
We were greeted by a waitress who then led us to an empty table. We both ordered immediately and then started a conversation to occupy the time until the food arrived.
"So weh yuh plan fi do when the baby comes?" I asked Brit.
"Weh yuh mean?" She asked.
"Yuh still a go live in a yuh parents house and unuh co-parent?" I elaborated.
"Devaughn say him nuh waa we do dat cause him know say mi parents dem a go stress mi out wid the baby so him a look somewhere fi we rent until him can buy a house. We nuh tell nobody bout it yet, though." She explains.
"Oh, ok." I replied. "So like how it look like unuh a go live together now unuh sort out unuh differences? Because unuh cya grow the baby and unuh nuh deh pon the same page"
She sighed and then took a while to answer.
"A nuh Devaughn a the problem enuh Anaya, a me. And best believe mi, mi a try but some days harder than some especially wid the pregnancy. And mi nuh know how it all a go work out by time the baby fi come. If him nuh waa deh wid me by the time the baby come I guess I'll have to stay at my parents house and we co-parent" She says forcing a smile.
I feel as if there's is more to what she's letting on, and I would be a bad friend if I see my friend suffering in silence and not offer her any help.
We were interrupted by the waitress returning with our food. I smiled widely at the view in front of me.
