One Month Later

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22

ANAYA'S P.O.V

"Okay, class, that's it for the day. Remember, the assignments are due next class. See you then," our lecturer says while packing up.

Sighing, I started packing my bag as well. School just starts, and we get so much work to do already.

I've started classes since Monday, and I'm already over it. Year 3 is more demanding than 1 and 2, and I don't know how I'm gonna get through it, but I have to. Times like this I wish I had Ryan here with me because everyone else is busy with their lives.

Anthony is now working with our uncle, so he's tired most days he comes home. He'll take a shower, eat, and then sleep. Sometimes, I even hear Brianna complaining about it on the phone.

Brit is currently focused on school and the baby. She can't move about much because baby boy has a lot of WEIGHT! So our frequent meet ups has to be limited.

Most of Sarayah's focus is on ensuring she's carrying a healthy baby after trying so long, and I don't want to spoil that for her with my problems.

My dearly beloved mom has her focused on her new love interest.

So it's currently just me alone in my own little world with work, school, and managing the house. I'm doing part-time at school, but the workload still makes it feel as if I'm doing full-time.

I stepped outside of the class into the cool night air. It was going minutes to 8 o'clock as our evening classes were from 5 :30 pm to 7 : 30 pm. I tiredly made my way to the taxi stand, contemplating if I should or should not go home to cook. I was really tired but I was also hungry. Sigh, it's not easy doing a full day's work and then immediately after you have a two hour class.

I'm beyond drained!!!.

Taking out my phone, I called Anthony and told him to purchase two foods at the corner cookshop. I was surprised when he came to me and asked what I needed help with in the house. I politely declined and told him that the money he was working should be for himself, but he was getting fussy about it, so we decided to settle it on him being responsible for the groceries. Everything else I would take care of. Being that I wasn't really in need of the money Ryan had left for me, I had asked Shane to bank it in his name for me just in case somebody wants to scam me again. I know the idea might sound stupid, but I have no other choice, and I think I can trust Shane.

Not long after, I got a taxi that would carry me around the lane. I paid the driver and dragged myself towards the house, then straight into the bathroom. After my shower, I wrapped the towel around my body and went to lay down after turning on the AC in my room.

"Anaya!" I heard someone calling in my sleep. "Anaya, get up and eat sumn." I recognized Anthony's voice as I stirred awake from my slumber.

"Know how long mi a call yuh? A suh yuh one tired??" He asked.

"Feel like one trailer run ova mi," I sighed, taking the food from him.

I opened the box to start eating the food but instead started crying.

"A wahmp to yuh?" Anthony asks, rushing to my side.

"Mi just feel so tired!" I cried. "And mi nuh want this!" I continued pushing the food to him.

"So weh yaa go eat?" He sighs, asking.

"Mi nuh know!" I continued to cry.

"Jesas christ," I heard him mumble.

"Come put on yuh clothes and mek we go shop cause yuh affi eat sumn. And stop the crying, " He told me before leaving the room.
