Ersoder

“Lilyana!?” Lazarus called out to his daughter, glancing around to ensure nobody was nearby who could reveal her identity. It seemed like he was looking for her.

“Father,” Lilyana exhaled quietly, releasing all the pent-up frustration and fear she had been harboring to compose herself before entering the ballroom. She had the plan to either shout or perhaps climb onto a chair or table if her long dress allowed her, and capture everyone’s attention and disclose the truth about her identity and the evil creature's presence among them.

“Where have you been? I’ve been searching for you,” he scolded her, as though she were a child who had lost hold of her father’s sleeve and wandered off.

“Father, I need to tell you something,” she said, pulling him by his wrist toward the corner near the stairs that led down to the kitchen. She was confident that nobody “important” would be lurking around the kitchen.

“Well, you will have to save that for later because I want you to go to the temple in Ersoder now. It is urgent. I will send Emeric there, we need to get rid of him or keep him imprisoned under the temple with those like his kind,” he instructed, hurrying her to the door where she came, almost shoving her forward as if it would speed up her arrival at where he wanted her to be.

Ersoder is a city located on an island outside of Poseidoria. Known as the City of the Holy due to its population of priests, angels, and its grand temple,  people from all kingdoms visit the city for worship and blessings.

"Why? Wait, did you…" She tried to ask him if he had seen what she had seen, but he cut her off before she could finish.

"Oh, Lilyana, what’s with all these useless questions? We're running out of time. Yes, he was able to shift without any problem, but that is beside the point. We can’t afford a stubborn king on the throne. He'll destroy our democracy with his radical ideas. And do you think he’ll spare me and the others after what we did to his mother and him? I am sure he would order his servants to prepare him a bath with our blood. I’d rather his brother become king, he’s easier to manipulate. Now go, a boat is waiting for you. You don’t need to worry my allies in Ersoder will instruct you on what to do. Remember, keep your identity a secret, they must think you’re just a concerned citizen supporting the revolution.”
