It's been roughly a month and a week since meeting Abra Cadaver. Izuku is studying the transcribed grimoire he got thanks to the zombie man. Izuku can't be more thankful for meeting such a kind hearted person.

So far Izuku knows the Soul Deal and Ethereal Flesh Possession. The first one is a necessity for literally all of the spells in the book. The other gives mortal flesh to an ethereal being.

Aside from that, Abra Cadaver taught Izuku how to cast offensive hexes and evocation magic. He can shoot fire balls, ice the floor, and do the magic tricks of a magician but without a slate of the hand.

But that's not all, Mojo JoJo is teaching Izuku engineering to the highest degree! Izuku only saw this level on I Island! Izuku already built Cyborg's arm cannon!

Izuku is currently studying artificing or the crafting of artifacts. Unlike enchantments which imbue magic into simple tools, artificing is imbuing magic into an entire work of technology. Currently he's trying to make a portal gate. He's testing the prototype now.

*Bzzt bzzt vrrrrrroooooommm*

"Success! Now let's see where it leads." Izuku heads into the portal and comes out in... a party? The monsters might scare most folks around these parts but again, Izuku grew up in a society where this kind of thing can be seen buying donuts.

Izuku walks up to the nearby bar which is manned by a fungal humanoid.

Izuku climbs onto a stool and takes a seat. He also puts three fives on the bar. "I would like a fruit juice please. Do you accept USD?"

Surprisingly the man nods. More surprisingly, he only takes one five and gives Izuku three ones and a penny. He then gives Izuku a tall glass with neon pink juice. It even has a bendy straw.

"Thank you so much!" Izuku takes a sip. "Delicious..."

"Thank you. So, what is a light dweller like yourself doing in the dark land?" The bartender is surprisingly polite given the type of customers he has.

Izuku smiles. "I was testing a prototype portal and wound up here. I hope you don't mind. I'm Izuku."

"Calvu. I don't mind at all. Light dwelling is always trending in the dark world. Though admittedly that's because of our ancestors."

Izuku now has curious eyes. "May I hear it?"

Calvu hums. "Long ago we nightmares were the dominant species.  The yokai, the mythos, the monsters. We were all the nightmares. But one day, the humans summoned beings with red skin and pointy ears. They banished our ancestors and gave them ethereal bodies weak to sunlight. A weakness that we descendants have inherited. Personally I don't blame the humans. I would have done more if I was in their place. Still, I have thoughts... If I could see the sun, witness the stories with my own eyes... Maybe death would be an equal exchange."

Izuku looks down... Then he looks back up. "What would you give to see the sun?"

Calvu tilts his head. "What do you mean?"

Izuku does not explain. But that determined look in his eyes has charisma. "Just tell me. What will you give to see the sun and live to tell it?"

Calvu looks down. What is seeing the sun worth to him? What would he give to be rid of this curse? "Everything... Even my soul."

Izuku nods. "Then that's what I will take."

Izuku holds his hand out with an ominous green glow. Calvu looks shocked at first, but he grips the hand tightly. A green chain appears around his neck and leads into Izuku's chest. His first deal.

It was the first of many. Calvu returned to the bar, telling his patrons about how he was able to witness the sun. And about the boy from the light who helped him do it. It took five days. After five days, Izuku became the sovereign savior of the nightmares. Both the current and the future generations of the nightmares were all able to live in the sun and enjoy its warmth.

Izuku is now the Nightmare King. "Darn, I did it again."
