Draco's POV
The past few days in most of my classes I've felt like I'm being watched. Like when you feel like someone is staring at you. Oddly enough whenever I turn to see who it is there's no one looking at me. I just left it alone since it's probably just some girl obsessing over me. There always seems to be girls that want me everywhere I go.
In Defense Against the Dark Arts I looked a few rows ahead of me and saw Potter and that pathetic excuse for a wizard... what's his name again? The one with the toad? Neville? I don't know he's not important. I watched as Potter paid attention to Professor Lupin's lecture on werewolves. I noticed the way Potter rested his head on his hand, and the way he brushed his hair out of his eyes. Stupid Potter and his stupid, fluffy, brunette hair.
I was pulled away from my thoughts by the sensation of someone nudging my shoulder.
"Draco, you alright mate?" My friend Blaise asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Hey, watch this," I responded.
I balled up a spare sheet of parchment and threw it right at Potter's head. Blaise and I laughed as Potter turned around meeting my smirk with a glare of annoyance. It seems Professor Lupin heard the commotion of Blaise and I's laughter because he looked up at us. We quickly averted our gaze down to our textbooks and chuckled silently to ourselves as the professor turned away.
Harrys POV
I was still a little frustrated at Draco for throwing parchment at me in in Defense Against the Dark Arts. So the next period in Potions class I decided to mess with him a little. Ron and I were partners in Potions, and Blaise and Draco were partners and our tables were nearby. So I thought when Blaise and Draco step away from their cauldron I could sneak over and slip a wrong ingredient in their cauldron. The only flaw in this plan was the possibility of getting caught by one of them, or worse. Professor Snape.
I filled in Ron on my plan to sabotage Draco's potion after we had gotten our ingredients out. I just had to hope they'd both leave their potion unattended for long enough. In the meantime Ron and I talked while making our potion. For the first time all semester our potion seemed to be turning out right!
"Look Harry! It looks nearly perfect!" Ron exclaimed.
"I know! This is amazing!" I added.
"Harry," Ron whispered, "look, they've both gone. Now's your chance"
I quickly looked around in case they were still watching their cauldron, and to make sure Professor Snape wasn't looking. I quickly leaned over to their cauldron and sprinkled crushed beetle wings into their potion. I quickly returned to my own cauldron where I gave Ron a sly grin.
"Bloody brilliant," Ron whispered to me.
As we all began finishing up our potions Professor Snape was walking around to inspect them. So far everyone had done good, well except Neville and Seamus. They really didn't have a knack for potion making. Professor Snape made his way over to Ron and I and I expected him to somehow find something wrong to point out, but oddly enough he didn't.
"Well done you two, I see you're finally putting in effort." Snape huffed with a surprised look on his face.
Ron and I exchanged a shocked, but happy look. Then we watched as he approached Draco and Blaise, smirking at each other helplessly.
"What in Merlin's name have you boys concocted?!" Snape questioned in the most appalled tone anyone has ever heard.
"Professor, we followed the instructions you probably taught us bloody wrong!" Draco shrieked all embarrassed.
"Mr. Malfoy that is no way to talk to a Professor. Fifty points from Slytherin!" Snape grumbled.
"Oh just you wait until my fa-" Draco started but Snape cut him off.
"Do you want to make it sixty points Mr. Malfoy?" He boomed at Draco.
Ron and I watched the way Draco's face fell, and saw Blaise look away out of embarrassment. After class we were laughing down the corridor on the way to our next class. All of a sudden I feel hands grab my shoulders and I'm being pushed against the wall.
(Authors note: I don't want to make the chapter too long so it'll pick up here on chapter four)
