Harry's POV
That night in the Gryffindor common room after everyone else had gone to their dorms to settle in for the night I told my friends all about what happened. I needed to tell someone about all of this. It was almost overwhelming how much had happened just in that one week.
"So, Hermione after you left he started to leave too. Only he walked right past me and dropped a note onto the table," I started to explain.
"What was it," she asked curiously.
"It was a note asking me to meet him in the empty class room down the corridor from the library," I responded.
Ron furrowed his eyebrows at my response and asked, "What did he want to speak to you for?"
"Surprisingly he apologized-" I started, but I had been cut off by Ron's voice.
"I wouldn't trust Malfoy. He's a bloody snake," he huffed.
"I dunno, he sounded genuine," I offered.
"Well, what did you tell him, Harry?" Hermione asked me.
"I said sure, and he also asked me to help him study so I said I would-" Once again cut off by Ron.
"Now why would you do that? Do you remember who he is?" He asked frantically.
"Ron calm down, there's no harm in it. And just think even if we don't end up being friends maybe we can at least be mature enough to end this whole feud," I explained.
Ron rolled his eyes and took a deep breath before speaking again.
"Okay alright. I guess there isn't any harm in it, but are you sure there wasn't anything even a little suspicious about him?" he asked as Hermione shot him an annoyed look.
"Well," I started hesitantly.
"Well, what?" Asked Hermione.
"He did say we would have to keep our friendship a secret, but only because he doesn't want his dad to find out. Which is pretty understandable," I said.
"Yes, I suppose that does make sense considering how his father is," Hermione concluded.
Ron shrugged and agreed. After I had finished explaining the afternoon's events we all went up to bed. That night I had a strange dream. The same dream I had in fourth year. The one about me and Draco on a date. I wondered why I had the exact same dream again like I did last year. I shrugged it off to be maybe because I thought about it earlier that week. It was probably nothing.
Draco's POV
After I got back to the Slytherin common room I immediately told Blaise and Pansy what happened. I was on cloud nine now that I had set this all up, and now it was the easy part.
"I dropped the note onto his table as I was leaving the library, and he actually showed up," I had explained.
"What happened, did it work? Did he buy it?" Pansy questioned, eager to know if her idea had worked.
"Yes, I gave him a little sob story about how I'm sorry about my actions and he believed it." I boasted.
"See, I have good ideas sometimes after all!" Pansy cheered.
"Now all you have to do is actually spend time in his presence, good luck with that mate," Blaise chuckled.
I rolled my eyes at his comment, still ecstatic that my plan was on track.
"We agreed to meet on Saturdays for studying, and I am not looking forward to it. Spending my Saturday afternoons with Potter? I'd rather not, but there's no way he's getting away with what he did" I said in a huff.
Deep down I felt anxious at the thought of being around him, and no one else there. Like the idea of being alone with him made my heart beat quicker. It was an odd feeling. I had never really been nervous like this before. I shrugged it off to just be anxious that my plan would fail.
After a bit we had all gone up to bed, and that night I guess my anticipation had taken over my brain because I had the strangest dream I've ever had.
In the dream I was in the empty classroom and I had my textbooks out in front of me. Someone was in the chair next to me with their books as well. We were studying in silence until for whatever reason I had put my hand on top of theirs. I turned to look and their face had turned a slight shade of red. I felt my face heat up as well.
We looked into each other's eyes for a moment. I noticed the vibrant shade of green in the other person's eyes. The dream was hazy, like when things around you in your dream are blurry but it feels normal. The person's face was like that, and I couldn't tell what their face looked like.
After a second our fingers intertwined and we gently squeezed each other's hands. I had felt the warm touch of their hand and it felt comforting. Then I started to wake up. I longed for that feeling again after I had been pulled away from my dream. The feeling of comfort, and it almost felt like love. I'd never felt anything like it before.
I sat up in my bed thinking over the strange yet comforting dream I just had. The way I felt in that dream was a feeling I had never experienced before, and I wanted to feel it again. There was something about that feeling that left me craving it more. The warmth and comfort of another person's presence was a foreign concept to me, but that dream made me long for it.
I had no more time to sit and think as it was time to get up for breakfast so I sighed and got up from my bed and began to get ready for the day. I thought about how I now had to spend my Saturday evenings with Harry. It was the price to pay to get back at him for embarrassing me though, and as soon as I found something to turn everyone against him it would all be over.
I was mentally preparing myself for this upcoming Saturday. I needed to play it cool and really make him believe I wanted a fresh start. It was easier said than done. I didn't have the slightest idea of how to be nice or friendly, especially not to him. I reeled my thoughts back in and went out to breakfast, and across the great hall my eyes had met a pair of green ones. It was Harry. Our eyes met for only a second but it gave me a strange feeling in my stomach before we both turned our eyes away.
