(this chapter is going to be when he sneaks out to talk to professor Lupin)

Harry's POV

I laid in my bed while I waited for the others to fall asleep. It took longer than I expected because Seamus and Dean were up an extra hour talking to each other. They were just going on and on about everything and nothing all at once. After what felt like a century they finally said goodnight to each other and turned their bedside lamps off. I waited until I heard the sound of additional snoring in the room to get my cloak and leave.

I quietly crept through my dorm and into the Gryffindor common room. Just as I was about to exit, Hermione had entered. She looked as if she hadn't been asleep yet and she looked around the common room knowingly.

"Harry," she whispered, "don't be out too late, you need your sleep." She said as she began to go back to her own dorm.

I shouldn't have been surprised she would have known I was going to sneak out. Hermione always knew. I knew that she was right about what she said. I did need sleep, especially tonight. I needed to study for classes tomorrow afternoon and finish assignments. That was also when we were planning to start researching potions to see if we could find out what potion Snape had given to Professor Lupin.

I exited the common room through the painting of The Fat Lady and quickly made my way down to Professor Lupin's classroom. As I walked down the corridors I made sure to steer clear of Filch and his cat. As well as Madam Pomfrey, she was wheeling a cart full of supplies down to the hospital wing.

I soon found my way to my destination. I looked around to make sure no one else was near, and then I pressed my ear to the classroom door to make sure Professor Lupin was alone. I didn't hear anyone else inside so I knocked quietly, yet effectively on the door. I heard his footsteps drawing closer to the door and in an instant it opened.

He looked around for a second, seeming to be confused. Then he it appears he figured out what was going on because he had chuckled and smirked.

"Harry, my boy, what can I do for you?" he asked, sounding amused.

I looked around again before taking off my cloak so I could answer his question.

"Well, Professor, I was just wondering if we could talk for a moment," I answered.

"Of course, come on in. Don't mind the mess I was just grading assignments," He chirped as he welcomed me in.

I looked around the classroom and noticed his normally tidy desk covered in assignments. Then my eye caught on the bottle that once contained an odd looking potion I had seen the night before.

"Professor, last night," I started, "you said something about my father. I was just wondering if you knew him," I explained.

"Oh yes, Harry. Your father and I were very close friends. I knew your mother as well," He answered.

"Really? Do you think you could tell me what they were like?" I asked with my eyes almost tearing up, because until now I hadn't really had much information about my parents.

"Oh sure, Harry, I'd love to." He replied.

He looked at me for a moment. He must have noticed how my eyes began to tear up slightly because he looked at me with an air of sympathy. Then he quickly turned around and rummaged through his desk and pulled out a small dish filled with chocolates.

"Here Harry, have a chocolate," he said with a soft tone and a smile.

His presence was very comforting. He was actually my favorite professor since I had first went to Hogwarts. He always seemed to be the most reasonable and understanding. He never minded if we hadn't completed an assignment on time, or forgot to do it completely. He would always make a compromise and help whenever he could.

"Thank you," I said as I reached for the dish and took a chocolate.

"Now, your father, James, was very charismatic. He was very funny and he was always one for playing tricks. Though, he was always an amazing listener and cared very deeply about those he loved," He said with a fond smile.

"What about my mother?" I asked inquisitively.

"Oh Lily, she was very kind and compassionate. She always lit up the room, even in the most tense situations. If anyone she loved ever had a problem they always knew they could go to her and she'd try her best to help." Professor Lupin answered, beginning to tear up himself.

"Did you guys have any other friends?" I asked him curiously.

I watched his face as his expression slightly fell. He looked sort of sad. I wondered what that had meant. He looked back up at me like he was trying to decide whether or not to tell me. This made me forget all about the potion bottle on the edge of his desk. Now all I thought about was what could possibly conflict him so much?

"Yes, we had two other friends, but that's a story for another time. It's getting quite late," he replied, feigning a small smile.

I understood that it must have been a soft subject for him. I said goodbye to him as I threw my cloak over myself and exited his classroom. As I made my way down the corridors and back to my dorm I couldn't help but go over everything he had said about my parents. It was nice to finally know even a little more about them. That night was the first time I had slept well that whole semester.
