40.

It was a beautiful day. It was a beautiful spring day in April. Today was the day. Chris and Lizzie are going to say yes to each other. Preparations had been in full swing all day. Jarnette walked around restlessly, Ashley and Mary-Kate helped with Lizzie's dress and Clayton took care of Lizzie's hair.

Clayton was a close family friend. Lizzie had known him for years and he always did her hair and makeup when she had important occasions. Lizzie was so happy with him. Not only as a make-up artist but also as a best friend.

While Clayton, Mary-Kate and Ashley took care of Lizzie, Scarlett, Scott and Robert took care of Chris. Chris was very nervous and Scarlett had a hard time keeping him calm. He walked restlessly around the room and eventually Lisa had to come to calm her son down.

The guests slowly started trickling in. The ceremony was about to begin. The whole room was full. Family, friends and colleagues had all received an invitation to be present on this big day. The music sounded and Chris was the first to walk in. He stood at the front of the room and then Maeve and Jane walked in.

They both wore beautiful dresses and threw flowers on the ground. Behind them were Dave and Lizzie. As a proud father, Dave was allowed to give away his daughter. Lizzie looked at Chris with a big smile on her face. Chris's mouth was wide open and with tears in his eyes, Chris looked at Lizzie. She looked beautiful. Even more beautiful than he ever dared to dream.

Lizzie stood opposite him. Dave arranged Lizzie's dress properly and the wedding official told some things. When he had finished talking, he gave Chris the floor.

'Lizzie, when we first met I fell in love. Waking up next to you every day is a dream come true. Your smile makes me happier than anyone else. You make me a better person and taught me that you should also enjoy the little things in life. I'm so grateful to be able to call you my wife from today onwards.'

"Maeve, can Dad have your wedding ring?" Maeve gave Chris the ring and Chris put it on Lizzie's ring finger.

'Chris, we've been through so much together. Sad things, beautiful things. After our break-up I thought I would never find love again but then I saw you again after all these years. I love you so much and I hope I get to wake up next to you for many more years to come."

Jane gave Lizzie her wedding ring and Lizzie put it on Chris's ring finger.

'Christopher Robert Evans, do you accept Elizabeth Chase Olsen as your lawfully wedded wife and do you faithfully promise to fulfill all the duties which the law attaches to marital status. What is your answer to that?' Chris looked at Lizzie and knew it was right.

'Yes.'

Elizabeth Chase Olsen, you accept Christopher Robert Evans as your lawfully wedded wife and promise to faithfully fulfill all duties which the law attaches to marital status.'

'What is your answer?'

'Yes.'

"Then it is with great pleasure that I now pronounce you husband and wife."

Chris and Lizzie looked at each other and knew this was the moment they had to kiss. They kissed and everyone started cheering and clapping. Lizzie was now officially called Elizabeth Evans.

Once the ceremony was over, the real party began. Chris and Lizzie had rented a room down the road so the community moved there. It was a big party. The wedding cake was cut and a number of artists performed.

Around half past eight, Lizzie's mother left home with the children. Jane and Maeve were exhausted. Luckily Jarnette didn't mind going home early. All the other children had already gone home and only the adults remained.

It was very pleasant. The music was on and everyone was dancing together. Lizzie had taken off her heels. Her feet hurt so much. She was used to walking in heels, but her feet started to like it less after a whole day.

Lizzie looked up Chris. She soon found him. He was chatting with Robert and Mark. "Hey." Lizzie joined us. 'So, are you enjoying yourself?' Chris wrapped his arms around Lizzie. 'We will give our bridal couple some privacy.' Robert signaled to Mark and the pair walked away.

'More than you'll ever think. This is truly the best day of my life. Lizzie rested her arms on Chris' shoulders. 'Was this day even more beautiful than the birth of Maeve and Jane?'

'Yes. Don't you know how much that hurt? This day really surpasses everything.' Chris smiled. "I love you Elizabeth Chase Evans."

"It sounds so crazy." Lizzie giggled. "I can get used to this." Chris laughed. 'Me, too. Thanks for this special day Chris."

'No problem. You are the reason this day is so special." Chris said. Lizzie blushed. "Who would have thought a year ago that we would be standing here together tonight?"

'I don't think anyone. I'm so proud of you Lizzie. We did this together.'

THE END.
