Furukawa
The Cruise Ship; Hallways
Leaving the deck, I entered an elevator and pressed a button, going a few levels down. I was heading on my way to the ship's library, hoping to borrow a few books to read while I'm staying here. The special exam on the uninhabited island was a long and tiring seven days. I needed something to do that could relax my mind for the time being.
After some time, I eventually reached my destination. I went through the doors of the elevators and entered the hallways, going towards the library. Many of the students were on the deck from arriving not too long ago, so there wasn't anyone where I was. I was alone, or so I thought.
"Looks like we meet again, Furukawa." In front of me, I saw two familiar figures walking alongside each other, heading towards my direction.
"Sakayanagi Reina and Sakayanagi Toshiro..."
"Congratulations on your victory," Toshiro said with a smile on his face. "To think that your class would end up in first place was a surprise. I predicted our class would get first place, but it seemed like Class D proved to have done much better. Our scores were quite close."
"Did you come here to talk to me?" I asked, getting to the point.
He shook his head. "No. Before meeting you here, Reina and I were heading on our way to watch one of the upcoming plays in the theater. I enjoy the acting in shows. What about you?"
"I was heading to the library. That's all."
"I see." Toshiro pulled out his phone and looked at the screen. "Well, we wouldn't want to be late. We'll be going now." Toshiro waved goodbye and walked past me along with Reina.
The twins are going to be a challenge... I thought to myself. Back on the island, when the teachers first announced our scores, Class A was in second place with 221 Points. Their score was most likely due to Toshiro and Reina's actions, and it was clear that there was a difference in strength between all our classes. We were only lucky to be where we were thanks to Horikita.
"Furukawa-kun!" Just then, turning around, I look to see Horikita herself. "I finally found you..." Exhausted, she took a few breaths before speaking. "Do you mind if we talk?"
The Cruise Ship; Lounge
Moving locations, the two of us sat down in an empty area of the lounge. "How are you feeling?" I asked, curious about her condition.
"I'm still sick, but I'm mostly fine now," she replied.
Taking a glance at Horikita, I saw how much she had recovered. She clearly looked better than when she was on the island, but it's going to take some time before she gets to her normal state.
"I see. So, what is it you want to talk about?"
"I heard the results of the exam. I want to thank you, Furukawa-kun. If it weren't for you, none of this would've worked."
The Uninhabited Island; the Woods; a few days ago...
Using some tools we've bought using our Points, I managed to get a few of the berries off the bush without injuring myself.
"Is this enough?"
Horikita looked at it and nodded. "Yes. Thank you."
"Are you sure you want to do this? There's a high chance that you will get seriously ill from eating these berries. You may even die."
"I understand the risks, but a small dose from these berries should only be enough to get me sick, no more. In the event that I do however, I'll be counting on you to take care of it. Now then, for my plan..."
