Seokmin sat in the dimly lit living room of his penthouse, the soft hum of the refrigerator the only sound breaking the silence. He’d just returned from a grueling day at the law firm, his body aching from the relentless hours. Tossing his briefcase onto the worn-out couch, he sank into the cushions, exhaling a long, weary sigh.

His phone buzzed, startling him from his thoughts. He glanced at the screen and saw the name that had become a haunting presence in his life: Joshua. The persistent, enigmatic mafia figure who had inserted himself into Seokmin’s life with an unyielding obsession. Seokmin’s finger hovered over the answer button for a moment, a mix of dread and frustration bubbling inside him, before he decisively hit "decline."

Barely a second passed before his phone buzzed again, this time with a text message. His heart pounded as he opened it, the screen casting a pale light on his face.

"Baby, you need to listen. I'm in Miami rn, I'll be coming. Try to be careful, because there are gangs coming to kill you. Try to hurt them until I come, please."

Seokmin’s breath caught in his throat. He re-read the message, his mind spinning. Gangs? Coming to kill him? He felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead. This couldn’t be real. Joshua’s obsession had always been unsettling, but this was something else entirely.

Panic set in as Seokmin stood up, pacing the small living room. He had always been careful, always avoided getting too involved with the dangerous underworld Joshua seemed to thrive in. How had he become a target?

He tried to steady his trembling hands, running them through his hair as he thought about what to do. Call the police? But what could he say? That a mafia member, who’d been stalking him, warned him about a gang? They’d think he was delusional.

The weight of the situation bore down on him, his chest tightening with every breath. His thoughts drifted back to his family, his parents who had sacrificed so much to see him succeed. How could he put them in danger? The thought was unbearable.

His phone buzzed again, another text from Joshua.

"Stay strong, baby. I'm on my way. Just hold on."

Seokmin’s heart ached with a confusing mix of emotions. He hated Joshua for dragging him into this nightmare.

After Joshua's dire warning about the approaching Mafia gang, Seokmin knew he couldn't afford to give up. He swiftly made his way to his child's room, where the little one lay peacefully asleep. Seokmin gently closed the door and locked it, shielding his precious child from the impending danger.

As he turned, a thunderous knock echoed through the house, shaking Seokmin to the core. He cautiously approached the door, his heart racing with adrenaline and fear. Peering through the peephole, he confirmed his worst fears—the Mafia gang stood on the other side, their presence ominous and threatening.

With a deep breath, Seokmin squared his shoulders and steeled his expression. In a voice barely above a whisper, filled with a mixture of defiance and determination, he uttered, "The plan has worked." A faint smirk crossed his lips as he unlocked the door, revealing himself to the gang outside while he masked back the façade of innocence and fear.
