Seungcheol Choi sat behind his mahogany desk, engrossed in the intricate details of his case on his laptop. The soft tap on the office door broke his concentration. Without looking up, he called, “Come in.”

The door creaked open, and a sweet, syrupy voice greeted him. “Good morning, Mr. Choi!”

Seungcheol sighed internally. It was Jeonghan Yoon, the man who had been persistently and uncomfortably enamored with him. Despite his attempts to be polite, Seungcheol had no interest in reciprocating Jeonghan’s affections.

“Morning,” Seungcheol mumbled, his eyes still fixed on the screen.

Jeonghan’s face fell. He had hoped for a warmer reception. “How’s your day?”

“Normal,” Seungcheol replied tersely.

Jeonghan’s irritation flared. “I came to discuss Mr. Lee’s case.”

“What about it, Mr. Yoon?” Seungcheol asked, his tone clipped.

'Look at me, you dumbo,' Jeonghan thought bitterly. “Well, I—”

Suddenly, the door swung open again, and a strikingly handsome man entered, his presence commanding instant attention. Jeonghan’s heart sank. 'No privacy for my husband,' he thought, frowning deeply.

The man’s vibrant voice filled the room. “Coupssss!”

Seungcheol looked up, his face lighting up with a genuine smile. He stood up and moved quickly towards the newcomer, pulling him into a warm embrace. “Shua-yaa!!!”

Joshua giggled, basking in the affection. Jeonghan’s eyes narrowed into deadly slits as he watched Seungcheol interact with Joshua. His grip tightened on his file, the paper crumpling under his force. A surge of jealousy burned through him, turning his entire being to flames.

Seungcheol’s gaze flicked toward Jeonghan, only to be momentarily captivated by Joshua’s magnetic presence. Jeonghan, dressed in a tailored suit of deep emerald green with a silk cravat, looked every bit the elegant figure of a god, though his current demeanor belied any semblance of tranquility.

Joshua’s eyes gleamed with mischief as he noticed Jeonghan. ‘Let me play a bit more with my bro-in-law,’ Joshua mused, leaning in close to Seungcheol and speaking in a soft, affectionate tone.

Jeonghan’s knuckles whitened as he gripped his file, his eyes fixed on the pair. He could hardly contain his anger. He slammed the file on the desk, the noise a thunderous declaration of his frustration. His gaze remained fixed on Seungcheol, desperate to reclaim his attention.

Seungcheol, though aware of Jeonghan’s discomfort, chose to ignore the growing tension. He was absorbed in Joshua’s presence, their closeness aggravating Jeonghan further.

After a few more minutes of this torment, Joshua excused himself with a playful smirk. “I’ll catch you later, Coups.”

As Joshua exited, Jeonghan wasted no time. “May I know who he is, Mr. Choi?”

Seungcheol, his mood still lifted from the interaction with Joshua, answered without hesitation. “My best friend.”

Jeonghan’s face flushed a deep red, his envy bubbling over. “Your best friend? What does he do?”

“Why the sudden interest, Mr. Yoon?” Seungcheol asked, though his tone remained neutral.

Jeonghan pressed on, “How long have you known him? Where did you meet?”

Seungcheol’s patience wore thin. “Jeonghan, must we continue this line of questioning? I’m rather busy.”

Jeonghan’s voice faltered, and he mumbled an apology. The atmosphere grew somber as he shifted his focus back to the case. His heart ached with the realization that he might never be able to evoke the same warmth from Seungcheol. The crushing weight of his unrequited affection felt unbearable.

When the case discussion concluded, Jeonghan stepped out of the office, his spirits deeply dampened. He dialed a number, his voice cold and resolute. “Hey, Hyung. I need you to kill someone. I’ll help you with the evidence.”

The obsession that had driven Jeonghan to this point was a dark and dangerous force, and his feelings for Seungcheol had twisted into something far more sinister than mere longing.
