After Seokmin had finally coaxed his young son, Seungmin, into a peaceful slumber, the house settled into a rare moment of tranquility. The soft hum of the night and the distant rustling of leaves created an almost serene backdrop. Yet, serenity was short-lived, for a sudden knock at the door broke the silence.

Seokmin, muttering a string of inaudible words under his breath, moved to answer. As he opened the door, he found Joshua standing there, clad in an oversized shirt that barely covered the shorts underneath. The sight was both unexpected and slightly disarming. Joshua’s presence, with his disheveled appearance and relaxed demeanor, seemed almost out of place.

Joshua smiled warmly, his eyes twinkling with a playful glint. "Seungmin is asleep, isn't he?" he asked softly.

Seokmin's face, which had softened momentarily at the sight of Joshua, quickly hardened again. He responded curtly, "Thank you for the concern. May I know why you're here?"

A giggle escaped Joshua's lips, a sound so light and melodic it made Seokmin's heart skip a beat. "Just wanted to see what you're up to," Joshua replied, fidgeting slightly. His gaze met Seokmin's, and with a hint of hesitation, he added, "Did you have a bath yet?"

Seokmin scoffed, crossing his arms defensively. "No, thank you. In fact, I don't want to explore this haunted house." His voice dripped with sarcasm, but Joshua merely laughed in response.

"Thank you. But you cannot go on without bathing," Joshua insisted, a playful yet earnest tone in his voice.

Seokmin, feeling both irritated and oddly amused, replied mockingly, "Thank you very much for your concern, Sir."

Joshua's smile widened. "No problem. I'll be sitting on the couch if you need anything."

With that, Seokmin closed the door harshly, the echo resonating through the hallway. For a moment, he stood there, listening to the sound of Joshua's footsteps retreating to the living room. His heart was still racing, the unexpected encounter leaving him feeling more unsettled than he cared to admit.

As he leaned against the door, Seokmin couldn't help but wonder what it was about Joshua that always seemed to get under his skin, making his heart flutter in ways he couldn’t quite understand. With a deep sigh, he pushed himself off the door and decided to head towards the bathroom. After all, maybe a bath wasn’t such a bad idea.
