Their parents bedroom is usually unoccupied. They normalised their father not really being home anymore, as he's a busy man. But he distracts himself with work, that's the kind of guy he is.When he is home, he truly does try to be a present father. He's proud of Teru's achievements and tries to stay in Tiara's life, but with Kou he's different. A courteous detachment. He's there in some ways, in others he's not. Kou has mixed feelings towards his father, but he can understand why he treats him this way. Their family is quite literally broken.
Teru however, treats Kou exceptionally well. Yet, sometimes a bit over protective. But in his own mind, he believes and trusts Kou.
Kou and Teru actually are very close, in a familiar sense. They play games together, bicker at dinner, and greet each other. Sometimes they fight, but it's never something serious.
At school, they're never seen together. Kou distances himself and pays attention to his friends and classmates. Teru however, looks down upon his peers and has a detached view of his classmates. Yet at the end of the day, the two walk home together.
After graduation, Kou and Nene see each other distantly. They have moved on in their lives but remember the fun memories they shared with that peculiar bathroom ghost. Teru and Akane are still friends, and with Akane engaged to Aoi and Aoi and Nene best friends... there are some times they occasionally hang out as a group.
Nene remembers Hanako vividly. After his exorcism, she dreamt of him every night and woke up in tears. But as time passed, people move on. And some point down the track, she distanced herself far enough to cherish those moments yet have the strength to move on.
Kou prefers to not talk about Hanako, personally. Maybe because he remembers Mitsuba?
Nene became a botanist.
Kou became an exceptional exorcist.
Akane became a lawyer.
Aoi became a nurse.
Amane would have became a physics teacher in the school, but... that never happened.
Hanako and Kou bicker a lot. Some of the things they bicker about is the following:
"If you could kiss any girl in the schools feet, who would it be?" - "WHAT?!""speaking in english" "What are you saying...?!" "Jeez kid, you should know, you're British!""If you were an animal, you wouldn't be a dinosaur... Hanako...""Santa Claus isn't even real, kid!""NO! NO! NO! NO BUGS ALLOWED IN THE BATHROOM, BOY!!! GET IT OUT!" "Hanako, that's not how the game works! Stop cheating!"Hanako doesn't believe in Bluetooth. And he doesn't even know what it is.Hanako really wants to know about the astro-news these days and steals Kou's phone.Hanako steals Kou's phone for a lot of things.
If Hanako is ever feeling oddly protective of the kid, he'll send his hakujoudai to do his dirty work. Kou finds it annoying.
Hanako once locked Kou in the school because there was a supernatural manifestation outbreak in the neighbourhood and he just wants to keep him safe. Kou broke out anyway, but Hanako or Teru saves him!
Hanako's first encounter with Teru is not a pretty one. He was inspecting the new middle school 1st years, and playfully fluffing their hair up and stealing their gum.
Teru did not find that amusing.
Kou, annoyed, using a floating Hanako's lap as a shelf to hold things. Hanako pouted but held onto his things anyway.
Hanako lost to a game of rock paper scissors and became Kou's servant for a day. He just held all his stuff and got him things.

FanfictionI love writing about random characters interacting with one-another so take these. Some of them are ships, some are just platonic hang outs/fights.
