The early morning sun cast a soft glow over the harbor, its gentle rays illuminating the aftermath of the fierce battle. Amongst the wreckage of his destroyed fleet, Lord Shen staggered towards the fallen cannon, his steps heavy with exhaustion and pain. He had fought with all his might, driven by rage and a desperate desire for victory, but now he felt the toll of his injuries weighing heavily upon him.

As Shen approached the fallen cannon, his eyes searched desperately for any sign of Y/N. His heart clenched with fear as he recalled the moment when she had pushed him out of harm's way, taking the full weight of the cannon upon herself. For a brief moment, he had thought he had lost her, just as she had feared losing him.

"Y/N!" Shen called out hoarsely, his voice tinged with both relief and worry.

Then, he saw her—lying beneath the massive cannon, her form barely visible amidst the debris. With renewed determination, Shen rushed forward, ignoring the pain shooting through his broken wing. He carefully lifted the cannon off her, his muscles straining against the weight, and gently pulled her into his arms.

Y/N stirred, her eyes fluttering open as she registered Shen's face hovering above her. Her relief was palpable as she realized he was alive. "Shen..." she whispered softly, her voice filled with emotion.

Shen held her tightly, his heart pounding with a mixture of gratitude and concern. "Y/N, I thought I had lost you," he murmured, his voice betraying the depth of his emotions.

"And I thought the same of you," Y/N admitted, her fingers clutching the front of Shen's robe as if afraid he might disappear if she let go.

Gently, Shen helped Y/N to her feet, supporting her weight as they hurriedly made their way back onto solid ground. Y/N retrieved her staff and Shen's sword, the weapons now symbols of their survival and determination. She guided Shen through the chaotic streets of the city, her focus solely on ensuring his safety and protecting him from further harm.

As they reached Shen's ancestral home, Y/N wasted no time in getting their selves settled. She guided him to his bedroom quarters, a sanctuary of opulence and memories, where a roaring fire welcomed them with its comforting warmth.

"Shen, you need to let me see your wing," Y/N urged gently, her voice tinged with concern. "It might be broken."

Shen hesitated, his pride warring with the pain that radiated from his injured wing. "I don't... I don't want to," he admitted reluctantly, his gaze dropping to the floor.

Y/N approached him with quiet determination, her expression soft yet firm. "Remember how you treated me when I was unwell?" she asked gently, her hand reaching out to touch his arm. "Let me take care of you now. Please."

Reluctantly, Shen nodded, his eyes filled with gratitude for Y/N's unwavering care and concern. With a sigh, he began to remove his robe, revealing the extent of his injuries. Y/N inspected his wing carefully, her touch gentle yet precise, assessing the damage and determining the best course of action for his recovery. Shen, his usually impeccable demeanor marred by pain and fatigue, sat on the edge of his bed, his broken wing causing him obvious discomfort. He winced as Y/N gently prodded the injured appendage, her touch both firm and gentle.
