As dawn broke over the nearby forest, an unconscious Po floated down the river, his fur singed from the blast that had hurled him away from the factory. The gentle current carried him along until he came to a stop beneath a low bridge. Standing on the bridge was a familiar elderly goat, the Soothsayer, who poked Po's belly several times with her cane, her eyes narrowing with curiosity and concern.
Some time later, Po was woken by water drops falling on his head. Groggy and disoriented, he found himself inside the ruins of a small house. Bandaged and covered with acupuncture needles, he blinked in confusion at his surroundings. The Soothsayer sat in front of a small fire, boiling something in a pot. Po, trying to make a silent escape, began to crawl away on his back, wincing with each movement. The floorboards creaked, causing the Soothsayer to raise her head slightly. Po froze, then went limp, feigning death.
After a few tense seconds, Po opened his eyes, only to find the Soothsayer right in his face.
"Ah!" Po screamed, jumping and then groaning in pain.
The Soothsayer silently held out a cup of unknown liquid. Po rolled his eyes and muttered, "Oh yeah... like you're going to get me to drink..."
Without warning, the Soothsayer stuck a needle in his forehead. Po's eyes bulged and his mouth popped wide open. She swiftly tossed the medicine into his mouth and yanked out the needle, making him swallow. The taste made him gag, but he was powerless to resist as the Soothsayer returned to the fire.
"If I wanted you to stay dead, I would have left you in that river," she said matter-of-factly.
"Why did you save me?" Po asked, beginning to remove the needles from his body.
"So you can finally fulfill your destiny," she replied softly.
Po frowned, confusion etched on his face. "What are you talking about? What happened back there and where are we?" He glanced around, taking in the charred remains of the small house. "What is this place?"
The Soothsayer's expression grew somber. "I am surprised that you remember so little... but then, you were so young when it happened."
Suddenly, Po could hear screaming inside his head. The memories, long buried, began to surface. He cried out in pain, clutching his head as he crawled towards the edge of the house ruin. The Soothsayer gazed at him with a mix of pity and resolve.
"Your past is coming back to you, Po," she said gently. "You must face it to understand your true self."
Po looked at her, his eyes wide with fear and desperation. "I don't want to remember," he whispered, the pain of his memories overwhelming him.
The Soothsayer observed Po with a knowing glint in her eyes, her voice gentle yet insistent. "Perhaps you do remember," she suggested.
Po, still trying to shake off the confusion and the pain of resurfacing memories, asked again, "What? Oh, that? It's just a stupid nightmare."
