"What?" I look at my mother who is sitting in front of me. Her glasses are on the bridge of her nose while her coffee colored eyes avoid my shocked stare.

"You're going to live with your sister in London." She takes a sip of her tea calmly. Not looking directly at me.

I almost choke on my tea. "Ha ha, very funny mama." I look at her but she's not laughing. She has a pained look on her face.

"It's not a joke." There is no emotion in her voice,it's like she's a robot. I've never seen her so serious except when it happened of course.

"You're serious? What the hell?" I yell getting angry. This can't be happening! London? What the hell am I going to do in London?

Her eyes widen. "Watch your language!" She points at me with her index finger giving me a warning glare. Her face is now flush with displeasure and all I see is her betrayal. How could she want me to go live with her!

"I am not going to live with her in London! I haven't seen her in two years! She left us and never came back!" I say raising my voice getting angrier.

Her face gets red and I can tell she's getting angry too. "Don't you dare say that about your sister. She left to study and now she has a good job." Mom defends her oldest daughter. She's had a soft spot for Karina ever since the accident.The truth is Karina left because she couldn't deal with what had happened. She was a coward who left her family alone when they needed her the most.

"Besides I have school and it's too late to get accepted anywhere else." I think I've found my way out but of course I haven't. Mom always has something up her sleeve.

She fixes her glasses that were at the tip of her nose. "You're going to London to work. Karina got you an internship at her work. You're going on tour." An internship? Tour?

I shake my head."She got me an internship? What tour?" I am so lost and irritated. And my head is pounding with every word.

Mom just sits there sipping her tea like if she was just telling me we ran out of toilet paper. "She works as an assistant stylist for a band. She goes on tour with them, you're an assistant so you'll go on tour with her as well." Um what? She expects me to go on tour with some band?

I stand up so fast I almost knock over my tea. "I don't want to work, I don't want to leave my friends!" I yell at her getting down to my knees in front of me. "I'll do whatever you want just don't make me go to London! Please." I beg her, I'm almost crying and I can see she is fighting with herself. Her eyes fill with tears and she looks away.

She clears her throat before speaking. "I'm sorry. You are going to London and that's final." She walks away towards her room leaving me alone in the kitchen. My mind is spinning only making the headache stronger.

I can't believe my mother is just shipping me off to London and I can't do anything to about it. I go to my room and look around. A lot of things in this room remind me of her. Of her braiding my hair for school or putting on make up for my first date. I grab a picture of me and Karina and I instantly feel so alone in my big room. The lights are off and I crawl into my bed and cry myself to sleep.
