Chapter 21 - The Truth

               It's only been a day and things are seemingly back to normal but I know things are far from that. Zayn and Nova never talk to each other at least not a real conversation. They act as if nothing had happened but we can all still feel it. The tension between them, it's always present like a thick cloud of smoke. None of us really know what happened between them or at least I don't think so ,not in detail. All I know is that Zayn punched Michael and then he and Nova fought. Reina was the only one awake to witness it and even she doesn't know. Reina only said she heard yelling so she came down and found them in the kitchen, Nova was crying and Zayn looked really pale and surprised. We've all tried talking to her but she just brushes it off. We saw their glum expressions when we all met up yesterday. Nova looked dejected and so did Zayn. Niall says Zayn didn't want to come but that they eventually convinced him. He also said he'd never seen Zayn so broken up before. He said Zayn moped around all day without saying anything. He'd only give short answers to anything the guys asked. Nova left the house for hours only to have her return and shut herself in her room. It bothers me to see her, to see them both like this. I always knew she'd get hurt it was inevitable. What I didn't expect was for Zayn to be hurting too. I mean it's not that I didn't think he cared about her it's just she's not his type so I never expected to him so hurt, down maybe but not heartbroken. The first time I noticed Nova liked him was when he introduced us to Mara last year, his now ex girlfriend. Her eyes were filled with such disappointment. She tried to hide it and she did a good job of it too but I know my sister. I can always tell when something is wrong. Nova tried to dismiss her feelings, to try and separate herself from him as much as possible but Zayn was always there looking for her and talking to her. I knew she would get hurt but I always thought it would be because he didn't feel the same way. I was wrong he did hurt her but she hurt him as well. He loves her. I see that clearly know. I had a hunch he might care about her but I wasn't entirely sure until the day she was hospitalized with appendicitis and we didn't know what was wrong. He stayed in her room for hours and we had to almost force him to leave so he could eat something and sleep. I mean they were really close, like siblings you might say but the fear in his eyes indicated something completely different. That was months ago, the next time I noticed it was when I found them snuggled up in the tour bus and then just this week when he defended Nova from Michael. You could see the rage and the jealousy burning bright in his eyes. I guess it was too much for both of them to handle. One of them said the truth yesterday and the other hid it. I don't know who was who but I sure hope one day everything will come to light for their sakes.

Louis

Going out in public without being recognized is a hassle. I'm walking down the street with my head down so no one will recognize me. Sometimes I miss being able to walk down the streets without having to be in disguise but I know I wouldn't change anything about my life. I met my best friends and I've visited so many places thanks to X Factor and the band. I hear a bubbly laugh and turn around to see a very familiar leggy brunette walking my way with her head down starring at her phone. A smile claims my lips, she hasn't changed a bit. 

"El?!"

She abruptly looks up in surprise. Her eyes light up as soon as they see me and her beautiful smile falters for a moment then firmly appears. Her brown hair is down in its usual way. "Lou!" We walk to each other and hug, her perfume reminding me of all the times we'd hugged before. 

"Its good to see you, how are you?" I ask as we let go. 

She longingly stares at me and then blinks it away. "I'm doing good. You?" 

I smile happy to hear she's okay. I've been so worried for her ever since we broke up. Let's just say the fans didn't take kindly to it. "I'm good. So where are you headed?"
