Chapter 4 - Movie Night

Nova

Zayn looked so gorgeous today; God I missed him. I hope he missed me. I can't wait to see him tonight. I have to look beautiful. Uh, like he'd ever notice, I'm just little Nova. I'm nothing but his friend and that is what I'll always be. Every time I'm around him I get so nervous. My stomach goes crazy and so does my brain. His smile makes my legs go weak and whenever he's close my heart pounds so hard I'm afraid he'll hear it. I know I shouldn't like him but I do. In the beginning I tried ignoring my feelings, burying them. I avoided talking to him, avoided being alone with him but he always found a way to do so. He was always so nice and when I cried he would always be there cheering me up, always protecting me. It's all his fault for being so amazing. I thought there was a possibility he liked me until he said I was like his little sister. I’ve been officially sister zoned and it hurts to see him in magazines with different girls much prettier and older than me. I'll never be beautiful enough for him. 

"Do I look okay?" Lee asks bringing me back to the present. She looks beautiful, her black hair is wavy down to her breasts and her eyes looks especially blue. 

I smile looking at her from head to toes. "You look amazing. How about me?" I ask. I had put on base, powder, a little blush and some lip gloss. As for my eyes I just put white shadow some eyeliner and mascara. My blonde hair is in a fishtail braid that Reina did earlier. 

Lee stares at me and smiles. "You look hot!" We look at each other and burst out laughing. We do that a lot, sometimes it seems we can read each others mind. "Okay, so what are you wearing?" She says regaining control of herself her eyes filled with unshed tears.

"My favorite low rise mini a white v neck tee with a black jacket and my red Chuck Taylor's." I had put some serious thought into my outfit, its laid back but not lazy. I want it to be perfect. "What are you wearing?"

Her eyes travel to the outfit she assembled on her bed. "Well I was thinking the low rise white jeans with my blue chiffon shirt with the gold collar and the black boots." She says looking unsure. 

"That's perfect." I smile. Her face relaxes and she changes into the clothes. 

When we finish we go downstairs to find the girls waiting for us by the door. . Reina looks awesome like always and so does her sister. Nik is wearing her favorite black shirt and jeans. Her light brown hair falling lightly around her shoulders.

"You guys look hot." Reina says when she sees us. "Nova you have nice legs you should show them more often."

"Thank you Rei. We all look hot." I say just as mom appears from the kitchen. 

She smiles and takes out her camera."Wow you girls look nice. The car is waiting outside for you guys but first let me take a picture." I smile to myself of course mom wants a picture.

"Mom" Nik protests wanting to leave. I wonder why. I mean she is so obvious she doesnt even try to hide it or she just sucks at it.

"It’s the first picture with all five of you. I need to update our family pictures. I have three new daughters that are not in those pictures.Now this will only take a second." We put our arms around each other and pose for the photo. Once mom takes it we head outside. Nik is the first one out the door. "Have fun! But not too much fun." Mom says waving goodbye  from the porch. 

"We will Sophia." Karina assure her getting into the car. I follow her and wave good bye. 

Reina

The car ride to the hotel is quiet. Cleo and Nova have permanent smiles on their faces, Nik is texting the whole way, Karina is biting her bottom lip nervously and I stare out the window. As we reach the entrance of the hotel I see a huge group of girls trying to get inside. “Ladies we have to take you to the back because there are too many people here. They’ll be someone waiting for you so you can go inside without being seen by fans.” Paul says looking back at us. Nik nods and Cleo’s eyes go wide. The fans see the car and scream and jump the security holding them back. We reach the back and Paul opens the door for us. “This way miss.” We get out of the car and I can hear the screams. The back door opens and Niall and Liam are standing there smiling. 

“Hey!” Niall hugs Nik and takes her hand in his.

“Lee, you look beautiful” Liam hugs Cleo with a big grin on his face. “Sorry ‘bout the whole fans thing. We weren’t expecting a crowd.” He says looking sorry.

“That’s okay Liam, they’re gonna need to get used to it. Once we leave for New York it’s gonna be like that every single day.” Nik says finally registering anyone who wasn’t Niall.

“Yeah don’t worry about it.” I say assuring him.

“I guess you have a point. Anyway come on the boys are waiting for us.” Liam leads the way to the elevator that takes us to the last floor. The doors open and you can hear people talking. Louis’s head pops out the side of the wall.

“They’re here!” he yells and in seconds he’s joined by Harry and Zayn “Welcome” Louis says looking directly at Karina and winking. 

Harry makes his way to me giving me a kiss on the cheek and whispers “You look beautiful” in my ear making me shiver. Zayn hugs Nova and Nik.

“Come on let’s get settled in so we can start the movie. Anyone want anything to drink?” Louis asks.

“What movie are we watching?” Karina asks Niall.

“The Hangover II” Louis says before Niall can answer. Karina smiles at him and turns away.I wonder what happened between them today. 

“Make yourselves at home, sit anywhere you like.” Zayn sits on a big armchair and Nova sits on the floor in front of him. Nik lies down with her head on Niall’s lap. Cleo and Liam sit with Karina and Louis on the couch.

Harry takes my hand and leads me to the floor in front of the couch. He sits down and pulls me down beside him our knees grazing each other.

The movie starts but I’m having a hard time concentrating because I can feel Harry looking at me. I glance at him and he grins looking away.

I’m still trying to concentrate on the movie when a phone starts ringing. It is Zayn’s. He opens his phone and smiles. “Hey” he says casually getting up and leaving. Nova stares at him as he leaves and sighs. She looks upset. She notices me looking at her and quickly smiles but you could still see the hurt in her eyes. I guess her sister isn’t the only one crushing on one of the guys. Nova stands up and sits on the armchair.

A few minutes later Zayn returns. “Novs”

“Yes?” she answers looking irritated.

“Can you move to the side so I can sit?” she moves but only slightly. So Zayn sits on the edge of the chair. I can tell she’s angry but she moves a little more so he can sit properly.

It’s getting really cold and I shiver. Harry gets up and returns with a blanket. “Come here” he says patting the floor next to him. I look at him hesitantly. “I don’t bite. Come on your cold, we can share” he lifts the blanket so I can sit. 

I hesitate but join him under the blanket. We look at each other and smile. Then I nestle my head in the crook of his neck. Harry just pulls me closer so half of my body is on top of his. He brushes his thumb back and forth along my shoulder blade.

I didn’t want to be here in London but I’ve changed my mind. This is exactly where I want to be.
