Chapter 25

Reina

The room is dark, all the windows covered with curtains. My phone buzzes with the familiar tone indicating it's Harry, again. He's been texting and calling for the past half an hour. I guess I know where Karina went after she abruptly left. She must have told him what happened. I'm actually surprised he's able to text me considering the murderous way she sauntered out of here. I hear the front door open and hear the voice that usually makes my heart beat faster with joy. Only this time it makes my heart hurt. His voice is followed by the lads and Karina. The girls must still be here because I can hear them trying to yell at Harry quietly. All of a sudden I hear nothing but the quiet ticking of my clock. Then some loud footsteps coming up the stairs and into the hallway. The doorknob twists slowly and the light comes in from the hallway. My eyes sting and I squint while my eyes adjust to the light. I know who it is so I turn away from him trying to conceal my face.

"Reina." He says quietly almost like a whisper. I feel the bed dip as he sits down on the edge. I try to hold back a sob but it comes out anyway. His arms come around me and he engulfs me. I cry and let it all out, the anger, the betrayal, the sadness but most of all the hurt.

"Why Harry? Why?" I scream hitting his chest with

my hands. I'm punching him and he is just sitting there soothing me.

He holds me tighter and takes a sharp breath. "I'm so sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." He chants his lips pressed to my head as he rocks me to and fro. After a few minutes I stop crying and we just sit there, me in his arms. I push myself away from him and stare at his sorrowful face.

"I..." I take a deep breath and push back the tears that threaten to come out. "I will let you try to explain...it, everything from the beginning and I'm doing so because I really , really don't want to believe" My voice cracks and a tear escapes my eye. "That you could have done that to me."

"I could ne..." He begins to say but I cut him off.

"Let me finish." He nods. "I also want to say that you've lost some credibility because you lied to me and didn't say anything." I stop talking and nod giving him the go ahead to talk. Harry's eyes fill with tears and he smiles a little.

"Only you would let me explain." He says chuckling a little bit to himself. He takes a deep breath and runs his hand through his thick mop of curly hair. "Um...so the lads and I were back stage and Jessica shows up. We were all taken aback by her surprise visit because as I've told you Jessica was a little crazy and so our break up was bad. She uh left and we did the concert. After the show we went back to our hotel to get some sleep. While I was sleeping you called and we talked and then Louis came and well you know. Ermh, after Louis left I was planning on going back to bed but I wanted to drink something for my head ache. Uh...somebody knocked on the door and I just assumed it would be Lou again so I opened the door. Of course it was not Louis but Jessica. She um just barged into the room. She stood in front of the windows and when I tried to close the blinds..." I flinch at that and he notices. Why would he want the blinds closed? "I know that sounds bad but I just didn't want the media taking pictures of us and starting any rumors."

He quickly explains and even though I won't admit it, he has a point. "What happened when you tried to close the blinds?" I ask and he shifts uncomfortably on the bed. I glare willing him to tell me.

Harry looks away as a tear rolls down his face. "Um she got in the way and uh she kissed me." He wipes the tear away angrily. "I pushed her away and told her that I love you." He shakes his head and I can see anger and resentment in his face. "She freaked and started saying she was better than you and that you were a slut. I got angry and started yelling saying that I loved you and that you are perfect for me. That's when she kissed me again and I pushed her away, again." He looks at me desperately willing me to believe him. "I yelled at her to leave and threatened to call security if she didn't. She started leaving but before she did she stopped at the door and said "Your happiness won't last long" and of course I had no idea what she meant until your sister showed up angry at the flat."
