-summer-"This is Opa's Pies, how may I help you?"
We got the place open this week, it took over a month of preparation... but we did it, with almost two months of summer to spare.
"Well hello there, can I get a cherry pie, with a side of ass?"
I clicked my pen against my notepad, my eyes setting to a glare. "Tom! I told you this number is for business inquiries, not other inquiries."
"So, tell me how do I inquire you?"
"I'm hanging up now." I pried the manual telephone away from my ear, shutting it.
"Is that Tom asking how to inquire you again?" Abby laughed, pouring a coffee into a mug.
"Yes, it's becoming overused." He's done this four times now. It never works.
Well, maybe the first two times it did.
But that is it!
The bells jingled against one another, I was expecting more customers but it was my boyfriend. "Why are you ignoring me?"
"I'm not ignoring you. I said you can't call the telephone anymore." I defended, he came behind the counter.
I smiled, unable to stop myself. I wrapped my arms around his torso.
"And she gave in." Abby announced, going into the back. Yes, of course I did.
I miss him, I haven't seen him in a couple days because he's been at orientation... getting his dorm room set up.
I'm still in denial about him going to college.
That is not happening, not for 55 days.
And counting.
Our schedules kept bouncing off each other, with me in here four days a week and him in training... and also still running a gang—I don't know how he manages it.
"So... bad news, I have to leave at the end of this month, instead of next month like expected."
You're joking me.
I looked up at him, trying to hide my frown.
"Why?"
"Since i'm going for basketball, I have to go a little earlier." He offered a small shrug.
I knew i'd be able to see him on weekends, but it wasn't the same as everyday.
"That's okay... we can Skype." I managed out a smile, pulling away from him.
He gave me a kiss, moving to get an apron on. We managed the place until evening, that's when our shifts ended, and Ryder and Bill's started.
It's a whole process.

I walked through my front door, Tom's hand in mine. I heard a bunch of... talking.
