Third-person narrative

It had been a little over a month since Tim had tried to explain himself to Lucy. Their relationship hadn't spiraled into turmoil, but an undeniable awkwardness lingered between them. Lucy had cautiously broached the topic of Tim accompanying her to the last doctor's appointment she had, but sensing his hesitation, she decided to wait until things felt less strained between them.

Now at around 20 weeks pregnant, Lucy's belly was starting to show properly, though she was far from looking heavily pregnant. Emotionally, she was gradually adjusting to her new reality, finding solace in the possibility that she might not have to navigate this journey entirely on her own.

The routine morning at work took an abrupt turn when a BOLO alert flashed across their screens—a manhunt for a suspect involved in a horrific multiple homicide. The entire team at the station plunged into a frenzied search across the streets of Los Angeles, the urgency palpable in every officer's movements.

As the hunt intensified, a 911 call pierced through the radio chatter, reporting a possible sighting of the suspect, armed and dangerous. Officer Chen, being closest to the location, immediately took charge. "7-Adam-100 en route," she declared into her radio, her voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through her.

"Lucy, no. He's armed. You're pregnant and you are riding alone" Nolan's concerned voice interjected over the radio.

"I'll be fine. If I need backup, I'll call. Just stand by," Lucy replied calmly, her determination evident. The weight of her pregnancy was no match for her dedication to her duty, a testament to her unwavering commitment to protect and serve, even in the face of danger.

Tim's concern deepened into a gnawing fear as he heard Lucy take the call. That was just Lucy—always determined, even in the most perilous situations. He wrestled with conflicting emotions: should he feel relieved that she was on the verge of apprehending a dangerous suspect, or should he be consumed with worry for her safety? Their strained relationship added another layer of complexity, leaving him unsure if he was in any position to voice his concerns. All he could do was wait anxiously, ready to step in if things took a turn for the worse.

Meanwhile, as Lucy pulled up to the scene, adrenaline surged through her veins. She scanned the area with sharp eyes, and just as she rounded a corner, she spotted the suspect. Without hesitation, she chased him through several blocks, each step fueled by determination and training. Finally, she closed the gap, swiftly taking him down and securing his hands with handcuffs.

Relief washed over her momentarily as she reached for her radio to announce "code 4," signaling the situation was under control. But in a sudden burst of resistance, the suspect violently slammed his head against Lucy's nose and broke free. Angela, arriving just in time, intercepted the fleeing suspect and subdued him, directing him towards Aaron and Tim's shop for containment.

Back at the shop, concern etched deeply into Tim's face as he asked, "Hey, where's Lucy?"

Angela paused, her expression tense with worry, before Aaron rushed out in response. He found Lucy kneeling on the ground, blood streaming from her nose. "Lucy!" Aaron cried out, rushing to her side.

"I-I feel dizzy," Lucy managed to reply weakly, her voice wavering.

Aaron's urgency spiked as he assessed the situation. "I need an ambulance! She has a pulse and is breathing, but she's unresponsive!" he yelled, panic rising in his voice.

Tim felt frozen in place, a mix of dread and helplessness overwhelming him. Lucy was injured—would she be okay? And their unborn baby—was it safe amidst this chaos?

As sirens wailed in the distance, time seemed to stretch agonizingly slow, each second laden with uncertainty and fear for what the future held for Lucy and their growing family.

Sorry about this part being shorter, I just thought that this would be a good cut off to the chapter.
