Ava's eyes locked onto the symbol etched into the wall. "That's the same symbol we saw at the café," she said, her voice low and urgent.

Jameson's eyes narrowed. "What does it mean?"

Ava shook her head. "I'm not sure, but I think it's a clue. And I think we're being watched."

Jameson's gaze swept the area, but he saw nothing out of the ordinary. "Who do you think is watching us?" he asked.

Ava hesitated, unsure if she should reveal her suspicions. But something about Jameson's expression told her he was already thinking the same thing.

"Ethan," she said quietly. "I think he's behind this. He wants us to find that artifact, and he's going to stop at nothing to get it."

Jameson's jaw clenched. "We need to be careful," he said. "If he's willing to kill for this, we can't underestimate him."

Ava nodded, her mind racing with possibilities. "We need to get more information about this artifact and what it does," she said. "And we need to do it fast, before Ethan gets his hands on it."

As they continued their search, Ava couldn't shake the feeling that they were being pulled deeper into a web of deceit and danger. She knew that they had to be careful, but she also knew that they couldn't afford to back down.

Suddenly, Jameson grabbed her arm and pulled her close. "Look," he whispered, his eyes fixed on something across the street.

Ava followed his gaze and gasped as she saw a figure emerging from the shadows. It was a woman with long, curly hair and piercing green eyes. She was dressed in a black leather jacket and jeans, and she looked like she meant business.

"Who is that?" Ava whispered.

Jameson's expression was grim. "I don't know, but I think she might be connected to Ethan."

Ava and Jameson exchanged a glance, weighing their options. Maya's words had raised more questions than answers, and they needed to know more about her connection to Mr. Henry and Ethan.

"What's your connection to Mr. Henry?" Ava asked, her voice firm but cautious.

Maya's expression turned somber. "Mr. Henry was my mentor," she said. "He was a brilliant archaeologist, and he discovered the location of the Amulet of Light. But he knew that Ethan would stop at nothing to get it, so he hid the location and left a trail of clues for me to follow."

Jameson's eyes narrowed. "And why would Mr. Henry trust you with this information?"

Maya's eyes seemed to cloud over, as if memories were flooding back. "Because I'm his daughter," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Ava felt a surge of surprise. "You're Mr. Henry's daughter?" she repeated.

Maya nodded, her jaw clenched. "Ethan is my brother," she said. "And he's been obsessed with getting his hands on the Amulet of Light since we were kids."

Jameson's eyes locked onto Maya's. "And what do you plan to do with it if you find it?"

Maya's expression hardened. "I'll make sure it doesn't fall into Ethan's hands," she said. "I'll use its power to protect the world from those who would misuse it."

Ava felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized the stakes were much higher than they had initially thought.

"But how do we know we can trust you?" Jameson asked, his voice laced with skepticism.

Maya's eyes seemed to bore into theirs. "Because I've been watching you," she said. "I know you're looking for the truth, and I'm willing to help you get it."

Ava and Jameson exchanged a glance, weighing their options once more. They had to decide whether to trust Maya and risk getting tangled in her web of secrets or strike out on their own and risk losing the artifact forever.
