This was not happening. More to the point, how could this be happening? His scent! Why did it have to be his scent?

Izuku had walked a few miles now, no final destination in mind. Yet, deep down he knew where he would end up. He always ended up back here. The large, dark gates of UA loomed ahead of him. A place that held so many memories for the Omega. This place always brought to him a mixture of emotions, Izuku had some wonderful memories, and some not so lovely ones too. However, he wouldn't be where he was now without this place.

Yet, now that he was here, Izuku needed a plan. He couldn't carry on like this. His friends would have questions and he wouldn't be able to hide this from them. Uraraka would know, she was far too observant for his liking. She had been one of the first to see through his Beta disguise. It hadn't helped that he had gone into heat right in front of her.

So, what was the Omega to do? How was he going to fix this? Why couldn't he just have stayed and carried on like nothing had changed? No, he had to make a fool out himself and run away.

He knew that he was lucky that he didn't see the Alpha often, yet, he wouldn't be able to hide from him. The blonde Alpha was clever and knew Izuku better than he cared to admit. Izuku also knew that the Alpha would not let him get away without an explanation regarding what had happened today. The young Omega took a seat on a nearby bench. How could he possibly avoid the Alpha?

He looked up at the school that gave him his greatest gift and purpose in life. Yes, the war had changed him, it had changed all of them. He did miss parts of his past.

Izuku stayed there for a few hours, until the sun began to rise. He knew he had to return to his apartment soon, he just hoped that there would be no one waiting for him outside his door.

"Right, time to go. Let's get this over with, " the Omega said aloud, standing and beginning the journey home.

He was relieved to find that there was indeed no one waiting for his return. Yet, deep down his inner-Omega couldn't help but whine at the thought of his Alpha not being there. That bond had begun to form now that he had found his fated mate.

He let himself in, dropping his keys in the dish and heading to the bathroom to take a quick shower. He wasn't working today, so a quick shower and then back to bed was his plan.

Yet, others did not think that was best for him. As he stepped out of the shower, he was startled by a loud banging of his front door.

"Izuku Midoria! I know you are in there, you need to let me in!" His brown haired Beta fiend could be very loud when she wanted. He should have expected her sooner.

Izuku wrapped a towel around his waist and let her in. She immediately leapt into his arms, before checking him over for any new damage.

"I was here last night waiting for you to come home," Uraraka shouted as he swatted her best friend across the back of his head. She looked stern, yet Izuku knew that she was more worried than cross.

"I'm sorry," he looked at the floor, "I went to UA. I needed some time to think and process what had happened at the party."

"What do you mean, what happened? You just took off, did you smell your mate? Was it someone at the party? Is it Todoroki? Is it-"

"-Kacchan, it's Kacchan,"

Uraraka opened her mouth to speak, but for once the Beta was unsure what to say.

Izuku moved to sit on his sofa, his head in his hands.

"What am I going to do? Why is it him? Why?" tears had begun to run down his freckled face.

Uraraka closed the door and went to sit next to him, holding him close. "It won't be easy, but if you don't want to tell him then we need to come up with a plan."

"I can't just avoid him. I know that I don't see him often but after my behaviour last night he is going to want to speak with me. We both know what he's like, he won't let this rest. I expected him to be camped outside my door when I got home." Izuku said, sitting up and leaning against the back sofa cushions.

"Well we will deal with that issue when we have to. I don't think he knows your address, so that should give us somewhat of a head start," she paused thinking about her next words carefully, "how about you take some time off?" She waited for the Omega to explode, she knew how much he loved his job. In fact, she couldn't remember the last time that he had a day off that wasn't because of his heat.

"That might not be a bad idea actually," he was surprised that he had actually agreed with her. He was never one to run away, yet right now, if he was to be around his mate's Alpha pheromones his inner Omega would be uncontrollable. "I know I'm owed at least a week this month as I was going to skip my heat. You know that I usually have one every three months. Hopefully that will be enough time to let Kacchan calm down and for me to come up with a plan. Yes, I'll put the request in for tomorrow as I already had today booked off."

Uraraka stared at her best friend. She was pleasantly surprised that Izuku had agreed with her. They needed time to figure this mess out.

"Do you want to stay at mine? Or I could stay here? I know Tenya wouldn't mind," Uraraka asked.

"Thank you, but I would rather be at home. I'll need my own nest, it's going to be a stressful week. You don't need to stay here, I'll be ok."

"I understand. You have today off don't you? I do, should I stay?"

The Omega nodded, "please, just for a bit."

The two cuddled up on the sofa with snacks and a hot drink. Izuku picked a hero movie for them to watch, he fell asleep on Uraraka's shoulder about halfway through. She didn't mind, she let him snuggle up closer and got her phone out. She knew the others would want an update on what had and happened and to help in any way that they could.

She opened the group chat that Izuku wasn't in. He didn't know about this one. The group knew that it was important. They often used it to talk about the Omega when there was a crisis.

Uraraka:
I'm with him now, he is ok and resting. We are at his apartment, he is asleep. He went to UA last night, I don't think that he slept. He is currently asleep on my shoulder.

Iida:
Good. He should not have run off like that. It is not safe for an unmated Omega to be out alone at night, even one as powerful as Midoria.

Asui:
Has he said anything about what happened last night?

Uraraka:
He hasn't said much yet,but I understand why he did what he did. Some of it isn't mine to share. Give him time, I know he'll be in touch. He's going to be taking a week off to get things sorted. I'll let him tell you the rest.

Todoroki:
Is it about Bakugo?

Uraraka:
Yes. I will let him tell you the rest.

The conversation was left at that. They could sense her tone, the Beta was not one to be messed with when it came to Midoria.

She knew that Todoroki would have picked up on that, he was often overly observant when it came to the Omega. She knew that he was fond of him, possibly too much for his own good. The Beta knew that Midoria had no romantic feelings for the Alpha. However, their past together had only added and developed the Alpha's feelings.

Uraraka would need to keep an eye on things here. Now that Todoroki suspected the bond between Izuku and Bakugo, she hoped that he would take a step back and that the Omega would remain blissfully ignorant.
