Chapter 12: Making a Decision

Izuku felt hot, far too hot. Why did he feel so hot? His next heat wasn't due any time soon. His eyes felt heavy and his body was aching. Why did he feel so confused? Looking around, he realised that he was in his nest, exactly where he should be. He nestled deeper into the blankets and cushions. Something was missing.

Alpha, Alpha was missing.

As he poked his head out of the mass of soft furnishings, the door to his room opened. There standing in the doorway was his Alpha. Izuku smiled, preening and clambering to the edge to get closer to Kacchan.

"What took you so long?" Izuku pouted.

At that Kacchan held up a bottle of water and an energy bar. "I went to get snacks. You're going to need your energy once I'm through with you."

The Omega felt heat pool in his stomach and slick began to leak from his hole. It was finally happening, his Alpha was going to mate him, knot him and breed him.

"Kacchan," he whined, "hurry up, I need you. You can enter my nest."

"Of course, Izuku. Your Alpha will take care of you." The blond Alpha strode across the bedroom to his mate. Now he had permission to enter Izuku's nest he wasn't wasting any time. "Look at you, all wet and needy for your Alpha."

Izuku looked down at himself, just now realising that he was in fact naked. When did that happen? As Kacchan positioned himself over him, running a hand down Izuku's chest, the Omega placed his own hand out in front of him. Something wasn't right about this. Danger sense had not triggered, yet, he couldn't help but feel as if this all wasn't quite real.

"Kacchan, w...what's going on? How did we get here?" Izuku was struggling to stay focused. His heat symptoms were getting stronger and stronger.

"We've always been here. We never left the apartment. I'm going to take care of you, Omega," the Alpha's hand moved lower, firmly squeezing Izuku's cheeks.

Izuku really wanted to be taken care of, but not like this. He was beginning to remember the villain attack and being injected with something. Was that what was causing him to feel this way and to have this strange dream?

No, he needed to wake up and it needed to happen now. He powered up his quirk as best he could, it was always difficult when he was in heat. There was only one way to snap out of this, he snapped his fingers together.

The force of his quirk caused him to jolt upright. He wasn't in his room anymore. No, he was in a hospital room. Kacchan was standing next to his bed, fists and jaw clenched and his eyes were closed. Uraraka was standing on the other side of his bed, she looked as though she'd been woken up by his outburst.

"Deku, are you ok? You're awake. How are you feeling? The Dr said that you might...er...be feeling a little strange when you wake up," The Beta couldn't quite make eye contact with him. What was she talking about? He felt fine-he doubled over as a sharp pain coursed through his body. What was happening to him now?

He turned to look back at the blond Alpha. Kacchan looks in just about as much pain as he is.

"K-Kacchan, what's going on? What's wrong?" Izuku doubled over again, as he did Kacchan growled loudly causing a whimper to escape from Izuku.

Uraraka glanced between the two of them, maybe she should leave. Although she was a Beta, the pheromones coming from the two males were beginning to affect even her nose.

"I think I'm going to head back to the waiting room," she said as she made her way to the door, "I'll let everyone know that you're awake and to er...not disturb the two of you." She quickly exited.

Izuku couldn't help but wonder why she had left so quickly. It was as though she was running from something or someone. Izuku reached out a hand to Kacchan, maybe the Alpha could help explain what was going on. He was surprised when the Alpha pulled away from him. Had he done something to upset Kacchan?

He could feel his scent becoming sour, he did not want to upset his Alpha. Izuku could feel tears brimming in his eyes. Great, now he was becoming emotional.

He placed his hands in front of him, how could he fix this. Then he felt another hand on top of his, it was Kacchan's. The Alpha had opened his crimson eyes, staring intensely at Izuku.

He spoke through gritted teeth, "we have a few things to talk about now that you are awake. Firstly, you were injected with a heat inducing drug-"

"-what? I was injected with-"

-Deku, please let me finish speaking. It is taking a lot of control on my part. Which I will also explain." Izuku nodded for him to continue. "As I was saying, you have been injected with a drug that is going to send you into heat. You are already showing symptoms. The pain and your pheromones are triggering my rut." Izuku gasped, was that really what was happening? Why couldn't he smell Kacchan's rut scent?

As though he could read his mind, the Alpha continued, "I've been given some suppressants by the Doctor. However, being so close to you is making things challenging. Secondly, the heat you are about to go into could be dangerous. Seriously dangerous. It could kill you if you aren't mated and bonded..."

What was Kacchan saying? That Izuku had to sleep with the Alpha and be bonded to him or he could die? No, that couldn't be true.

"I want to speak to a Doctor," the Omega said as he rubbed some of the tears from his eyes. He felt Kacchan tense even more.

"That isn't possible. Uraraka will have told the Dr that you are awake and so the door will have been locked. You're an unbonded Omega, Deku. I'm struggling as it is, the thought of another Alpha in here with you-no I'm not going to finish that sentence."

This was a lot for the Omega to process. He'd come to the realisation recently that his and Kacchan's relationship would be developing at some point. But now? In a hospital room of all places? This wasn't happening.

"I can't do this, you can't expect me to-" he bent over again as pain shot through his body. His heat was fast approaching.

Kacchan reached forward so that he was now holding Izuku in his arms. "I know that it is a lot. It's all happening too fast, I wanted to court you properly. But I will not risk your life over this. We both know that we would have bonded at some point so why not now?"

To say that Izuku was shocked would be an understatement. For Kacchan to be so open and honest with him about his feelings was something so unexpected that he didn't know how to respond. He looked his Alpha in the eye, could he do this?

"Ok, Kacchan. I'll be your Omega," as he spoke the words his body's temperature began to rise. This was it, the deadly heat was here. Would a bite from his fated Alpha be enough to save him?
