“K…Kacchan,” squeaked the Omega before slamming the door shut, leaving both Alphas in the hallway outside of the apartment.
There both Alphas stood, staring at one another as time slowed down. Finally, Todoroki decided to break the silence.
“Bakugo, what are you doing here? I was not aware of you knowing where Midoria lived? He is unwell, I do not think he wants to see you.”
“Tsh, get out of my way Icy-hot. What are you even doing here? I thought that you were working today,” the blonde Alpha growled the last few words. He didn’t understand why, but his inner Alpha was very pissed that another Alpha was standing outside of Deku’s door. He could feel his fist tensing as he moved closer to the taller Alpha.
“I simply came here to check on my friend, and to see if he needed anything. It is no business of yours, Bakugo. I suggest you leave now. I know that Midoria will not want to see you at the moment, probably not at all. He told me that he was going to rest,” Todoroki’s tone was quite confident, which of course, angered the other Alpha even more. He could see that Todoroki was puffing his chest out slightly. What an odd thing to do, no wonder he was friends with the nerd.
“What the hell are you talking about? I am here to speak to Deku, no one else. You need to leave so that I can have a conversation with the damn nerd about why he ran off after he looked at me at his birthday party!” his pheromones were building, filling the hallway. Since the war, his control over his emotions and pheromones had improved. Why was he losing control now?
Todoroki coughed slightly, “calm yourself Bakugo, there is no need to get so irate over this. Go home and let Midoria rest.”
That did it. Katsuki was already tired and agitated, and now he was pissed. He hadn’t had a good night's sleep since the nightmare. The same recurring dream had plagued his mind each night. The blonde Alpha shoved the other Alpha in the chest, knocking him against Deku’s door. Katsuki was now standing mere inches away from the other Alpha. He really wanted to blast the Alpha in his smug face, but he had already received a strike this week for inappropriate quirk use.
“I’ll only say it once again. You need to leave, I will be talking to De…” he stopped and sniffed the air around Todoroki. What was that smell? More importantly, why was it coming from Todoroki? “Why do you smell like that?” Katsuki’s eyes had gone dark and his breathing was becoming laboured. Mate, mate, mate. The thought was swirling around in his head, making it impossible to think about anything else.
He knew that it wasn’t Todoroki, his scent almost repulsed him. However, he could smell his Omega mate had been in contact with the Alpha in front of him. It was relatively fresh too, so it had to have been a recent interaction.
“I’m not sure what you are talking about?” there was a small smile creeping its way onto Todoroki’s face. Katsuki saw it, those piercing crimson eyes narrowing in on the two-toned Alpha.
“Don’t you dare talk crap to me! You smell like my mate, where are they? Why do you smell like them? Where were you before you came to see Deku?” His rage was building, sweat pooling in his hands, small explosions popping every second. He knew that he had to calm himself or he would cause some serious damage. Yet, he couldn’t believe that his mate was close, and the half-and-half bastard had been around them first!
“I am sorry Bakugo, I came straight from my family’s home,” was his reply, “oh, I did stop for a coffee on my way here…”
“Where? What was the name of the cafe? Who served you whilst you were there?” Katsuki was now holding the other Alpha’s shirt in his clenched fists. He would have answers from the extra, and he would have them now.
“Oh I don’t know. I think it was that small place round the corner from here. You know, the one run by that cute pink haired Omega…”
Katsuki was off like a flash. He had to find this Coffee shop. He had to find his Omega.
He blasted his way down the stairs and was out of the apartment building in seconds. Wait, Todoroki had said it was around the corner but which corner. The Alpha didn’t live around here, therefore he didn’t know his way around. He looked left and right, which way should he start his search?
Katsuki had always been a decisive Alpha, yet for some reason he was at a loss. He was still standing outside Deku’s apartment building. His feet felt as though they were glued to the floor. It was almost as if his body didn’t want him to move.
A young couple caught his eye from across the street. They were both holding take-away coffee cups. He couldn’t see the brand, but that would be a good place to start. He began to dash in the direction in which the couple had come from. He turned a corner, and there was indeed a coffee shop. It was quite small, tucked away slightly from the busy main road. The front had been painted pink, with an array of yellow flowers trimming the large glass window.
Katsuki wasn’t into cute things, yet this place wasn’t too bad to look at. As he moved closer, he sniffed. His inner Alpha was getting excited, preening as he was about to find his Omega, his mate. He brushed his hands down the front of his clothes. He wanted to make a good first impression.
He pushed the door open, a bell chimed above his head. He stopped and sniffed again. Nothing. His scenes were picking up absolutely nothing.
Had that half-and-half bastard lied to him? He glanced around, he could see a pink haired Omega behind the counter. There she…he stopped. As he got closer he saw it. A mating mark on her neck. Also, her scent was completely different to the one that he had smelt on Todoroki. That one had been delicious, mouth watering green apples. However, hers was more like baked bread. And it was clearly mixed with her Alpha’s scent. Well this was a dead end. Why had Todoroki lied to him? Was he keeping his Omega from him?
