The week passed quickly for Izuku and before he knew it, it was the day before his 21st birthday. That meant it was also the day of his party. The Omega had been debating on whether or not he should cancel it or not. When he thought about it more he didn't know if seeing Kacchan again in a non-work environment was such a good idea. The more he thought about it, the more it made him feel sick to his stomach.

Izuku was in the locker room of the Hero agency he worked at, finishing getting changed out of his hero gear and trying to mentally prepare himself for later. His thoughts were interrupted by another Hero clearing this throat.

"Midoriya, is everything alright? Your scent is beginning to leak out. Have you changed your scent blockers recently?" It was Todoroki who had spoken, the Alpha looking at the Omega with a slightly worried expression.

"Oh, Todoroki. Sorry, I was just thinking about the party later," Izuku said as he scratched the back of his neck. He did need to change his scent blockers now he thought about it. "Yes, you're right. I'll get them changed before I leave here. I have some spares in my locker somewhere."

"Are you excited about your birthday?" Todoroki asked as he adjusted his shirt. "You must be looking forward to possibly finding your mate."

"Er...y-yes of course I am. I know that Ochaco has put a lot of work into the party, though I don't think I'll find my mate that quickly," replied Izuku, a slight blush appearing across his cheeks. He turned to finish getting changed and began looking for some more scent blockers.

"Well you never know," said Todoroki with a small smile. "I'll see you later. Don't forget your scent blockers." A neutral expression returning to the Alpha's face. Todoroki then left Izuku alone in the changing room.

Alone with his own thoughts was not a great way to spend the time before the party he was dreading. Once he was dressed, his attention turned to finding his suppressants. He only had a couple of pairs left, he would need to call for some more soon. He found them, secured them to his scent glands and headed home.

The Omega had just three hours to wait until the party, plenty of time to dwell on his own thoughts. Thankfully, the time did pass as he flicked through his notes from his recent villain fights.

Izuku now had half an hour before his presence was expected at their favourite bar. Uraraka had rented out a private section for the evening, they were regulars and Pro Heroes so it had been no trouble for her. She really had gone all out for him and he knew that he couldn't let her down. Izuku would just stay for as long as he was required to, once it hit midnight he would make his excuses and leave.

The Omega stood, somewhat helplessly, in front of the mirror in his room. He never cared much for his choice of clothes, often opting for something comfortable and casual. Yet, this evening felt different. Not to mention, Uraraka had told, no demanded, him to 'make an effort or else'. Izuku wasn't exactly sure what she was implying, but he knew better than to get on the Beta's bad side.

He was currently wearing a pair of black ripped jeans and his signature red shoes. He really wanted to wear his usual t-shirt that said 't-shirt' but Uraraka had specifically banned that one. No, he settled for an emerald long sleeved button down shirt with the buttons done up to hide his scent glands that were covered with suppressants.

Yes, he thought to himself, Uraraka can't complain about this. Though, knowing his best friend she would find some fault in it. Giggling to himself as he rolled his sleeves up to his elbows, he remembered their conversation earlier that day.

"You had better make an effort! I will march you home and make you change! You only turn 21 once, if you're lucky enough to find your mate then you don't want to look like a mess!" She had shouted most of it at him as they ate lunch together on their break.

He sighed and checked the time. Shit, he was running late! An outfit choice shouldn't take that much time. He grabbed his keys, wallet and phone and headed out.

Izuku arrived only a few minutes late, his apartment was only a 10 minute walk from the club. Uraraka was waiting by the door, ambushing him as soon as she locked eyes on the greenette.

"There you are! You're late!" She berated the young Omega as she checked over his appearance. "At least you've dressed appropriately." She let go of him and led him into the bar. No, dragged him into the bar to where his friends were drinking and chatting amongst themselves.

"Here he is!" Shouted Ashido as she wrapped her arms around the slightly trembling Omega. "Here, take this." She handed him a beer and winked. A growing blush was spreading across his freckled cheeks. "Awww, Midoriya, don't be so shy. You are so confident when fighting a villain, it's only us here you can relax a bit."

"I guess you're right, Ashido," Izuku spoke softly, trying his best to return a smile.

"I'm always right! Aren't I Eijiro?" She turned to her mate as she spoke, waiting for him to respond with the correct answer. Yet, he was engrossed in another conversation with his blond best friends at the other end of the bar. "Eijiro!" She yelled, making everyone turn their attention to the pink Beta. Izuku sunk deeper into Ashido's embrace, trying desperately to hide his now bright red face.

"Uh oh, looks like I'm in trouble again," Kirishima chuckled as he made his way over to his mate. "What's the matter Mina?" He asked casually, he knew that she wouldn't stay mad at him for too long.

"I'm always right aren't I?" She asked again as the red head stopped in front of the Beta and Omega.

"Oh, hell yeah! Never wrong!" He gently kissed her cheek and took a large drink of his beer. His attention then turned to Izuku. "Mido! Can't believe it's finally your birthday, congrats!" He hugged the smaller male.

The greenette smiled back. Then his eyes caught deep crimson ones, the smile turned sheepish and he looked away quickly.

"Here, take this," Todoroki was standing behind the Omega with a beer in an outstretched hand. Izuku's attention moved to his close friend and took the beer.

"Thanks." His attention was now away from a certain blonde and he could enjoy his party with his friends.

Uraraka grabbed her best friend and pulled him towards the dance floor. Yes, this was how he should be spending tonight. Not worrying about a silly unrequited crush, but with his closest friends.

Before he knew it, it was almost midnight.

"Izuku! It's almost time!" Uraraka shouted over the music as they were dancing the night away. He just smiled in response, the part of his birthday that he was almost dreading was fast approaching. Maybe he could find somewhere to hide. He shook his head, no he had to see this through.

Five minutes to go.

The Omega continued dancing with his friends, he was doing his best to enjoy himself.

Two minutes.

"Here, one more drink before we hit midnight," Kirishima said as he brought over a tray of green shots.

"Do I want to know what's in this?" Izuku giggled as he was given one of the peculiar drinks. He had drunk way more than he usually would and was therefore beginning to feel the effects. Kirishima simply smiled and shrugged his shoulders. "I didn't think so," Izuku said.

One Minute.

Everyone was now holding a green shot and they began counting down.

"Five...four...three...two...one...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Izuku copied his friends as he downed the green liquid in one. It tasted sweet, like apples. Typical, he thought.

As he moved the small glass away from his lips a strong scent hit him, it was intoxicating. Izuku could smell a mixture of caramel and toffee. It felt comforting, warm and somewhat familiar. The Omega gazed around the room and froze when his eyes locked on the captivating crimson eye's of his fated mate.

There was only one thing to do now. He ran.
