A door swung open, blinding us by the bright light from the back of the hospital, Tyler appeared right before us. He was ok, awake and breathing. My heart dropped seeing him being able to walk.

Before anyone could say anything Taylor ran straight for him and gave him a bear hug making them both fall onto the floor.

"It's alright, I'm here. I'm right here"

Tyler rubbed her back as she sobbed into his shoulder. My eyes teared up seeing him in front of us, talking and just fine. Mrs.Hernandez went over to her kids and kneeled down before them,

"Tyler honey..you're bleeding."

She pulled out his arm slowly revealing a bloody wound probably from ripping a needle or IV out his arm.

Tyler hugged his family holding on as if they were apart for years. Everyone flooded over to him making sure he was alright while his mom talked with the doctors. Instead of crowding over him I decided to step out and take a fresh breath of air till everyone calmed down.

Stepping outside the automatic doors of the hospital emergency room entrance I sucked in a deep breath trying to collect myself. I thought he was gone but here he is in front of us, breathing and well. I stayed outside a bit longer till Aiden came out and stood next to me.

"Why didn't you say anything to him?"

He pushed his hands into his pockets feeling the cold night breeze.

"I didn't want to overcrowd him, having everyone run up at once was probably a lot seeings how he was knocked out forever."

I shrugged and listens to the night.

"Well he's back into his room now and he's requested to talk to you alone, so I would go talk with him now."

He shrugged, his hand moved up and patted my shoulder before he walked inside, the doors sliding slowly as his figure faded into the bright lights.

I took another deep breath and made my way inside and walked to the desk, I asked to see Tyler which they gave permission to letting me walk through the doors and towards his room. His door was shut as I heard silent beeps pulse through the door, my hand reached down and rested on the handle a bit to collect myself and then I stepped into his room.

On the bed was Tyler, IV's all over his body and machines everywhere, his head turned to me reacting to the sudden noise but he quickly smiled. My eyes teared up again, I ran to his side and wrapped my arms around him moving my face to hide in his neck. I took a deep breath as his arms wrapped around my back rubbing it slowly.

After a few moments of silence I decided to speak up,

"I thought I lost you."

He let out a deep slow laugh, one that made my cheeks heat up.

"I promised no one would get hurt on my watch, even if I did I'm still here, ain't I?"

His voice was slow and horse, I never been with him when he was this vulnerable before. He slowly lifted my head with his hand, a bright smile plastered across his tanned skin as he looked around for any injuries,

"You didn't get hurt? Did you?"

He asked as his hand calmly went to rest against my cheek. "Well, I kinda got throw out a car because Ashlyn crashed it on accident, but other than that I was fine." I leaned into his warm touch enjoying the feeling of his thumb rubbing my cheek bones.

"I should've been there to help you, I'm sorry."

He spoke softly as if he spoke too loud he'd break me, I shook my head quickly and rested my hand upon his.

"You have no right to apologize, I should apologize for not saving you, you're the one who almost died not me."

I said sternly, making him let out another deep chuckle before he looked me directly in the eyes,

"Well then, I guess we both are sorry and both shouldn't have to apologize."

Laughs filled the room from both of us before it was silent again, the only noise being the machines that are regulating his body.

It was just us again, just like how it was in the bathroom the other day and just like how it was playing hide and seek under the bus seat. The whole room felt like it had been spinning, no interruptions this time just two dumb kids staring smiles into each other's eyes.

Before anyone could come into the room and ruin a moment like this again Tyler used it to his advantage, he slowly leaned forward and pressed his lips onto mine. One of my hands quickly went to the back of his neck while the other held myself up for support. It felt the whole room was spinning, my lips were warm and my head felt dizzy. Just as it started it ended, he slowly pulled back from me and stared into my eyes with his half opened ones.

"I've been wanting to do that for forever."

He let out a quiet laugh as I followed and laughed with him.

"I really did mean it when I said I liked you, I don't know what I would do without you, when I fell out of the car I was so worried I would never see you again but here I am holding you like you're the only person on earth. I would do everything in my power to make sure you're safe from all danger even if it means throwing myself in the way for you."

His voice was soft and raspy at the same time, I've never expected Tyler Hernandez to ever say something like this but here he is, with his cliche line. I wrapped my arms around him again, ignoring the throbbing pain from my body and just held onto him, knowing this moment would be up sooner or later.

A knock was softly heard through out the room making me pull back slowly, Taylor, Ben, Aiden and Logan all stood outside the door smiling at us.

"It's about time."

Aiden said with a scoff making Tyler throw a pillow at him. Everyone laughed as they made their way into the room, we talked about anything and everything. From old memories to what Tyler missed when he fell out and about how the adults knew the situation.

For a moment it all felt normal, like a group a normal teenagers who all live normal lives. Before we knew it the door swung opened showing Ashlyn at the door,

"Oh it's ash!"

Aiden piped up sitting on the board at the end of the bed. Her feet were quick moving towards the side of the bed,

"I'm sorry.."

she looked down at Tyler with regretful eyes.

"Not your fault."

He said looking away from her,

"So stop acting mopey, carrot-top."

Her eyes quickly changed to shock and angry,

"What?"

She asked as she looked at Tyler.

"Your hair is orange, so I'm calling you carrot-top from now on."

"No you aren't."

"Too late already made up my mind."

Everyone laughed as we looked at the two in front of us. For the next hour or so we just talked, not about phantoms and the other world but about normal teen stuff. Mike, Ashlyn's dad, walked into the room and told everyone we're staying at Aiden's place for the night and would leave in 10 minutes.

Everyone else decided to leave the room just leaving me and Tyler again, I gave him and quickly smile and grabbed his hand playing with his fingers.

"You promise you're going to be alright here without us?"

I asked him looking down at him.

"Yes I promise, just don't miss me too much."

He said chuckling making me join him.

I quickly bent down and kissed his cheek before walking to the door,

"I'll come visit you tomorrow, goodnight Tyler."

"Goodnight, y/n"

I stopped edging y'all now, you're welcome))
