Jennie's POV:

Ms. Yoon enters our bedroom with a soft knock, her expression a mix of concern and excitement.

"Jennie, I have some good news. The doctor will be here shortly to check if you're still contagious. If all goes well, you'll be able to leave the room for our last night here in Bali," she says, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.

I feel a rush of excitement at her words. "Really? That would be amazing!" I exclaim, practically bouncing. I can't be cooped up here any longer; I'd die...

Ms. Kim smiles warmly. "Yes, and if you're cleared, there are some fun activities planned to commemorate our last day. So, let's hope for the best." With that, she swiftly exits the room.

I frantically start doing some stretches to shake off the stiffness from being in bed for so long. This is the healthiest I've felt in a while. That babbling doctor was talking nonsense. Lisa, sitting on her bed, watches me with an amused expression. "You're like a cat that's been let out of a cage," she teases.

Before I can retort, there's a knock on the door, and the doctor steps in, carrying a medical bag.

"Good morning, Jennie, Lisa," he says professionally, setting his bag down. "Let's see how you're doing."

I watch as the doctor wraps the blood pressure cuff around Lisa's arm. After a few seconds, he notes down the reading in his notepad. Next, he swabs the back of Lisa's throat with a cotton swab and places it in a vial of clear solution.

"That's done. It's quicker than the first time. The test will confirm if there's any presence of influenza in your system," the doctor explains.

He then turns to me. "Now, Ms. Kim, it's your turn."

"Let's get this over with," I say, quickly pulling up my pajama sleeve for my blood pressure to be measured. As he places the cuff on my arm, I feel it squeezing tightly. "Looks good here," he comments, noting it down in his pad.

Of course, it looks good. I take great care of my health, I think, rolling my eyes, impatience etched on my face.

He then swabs my mouth. I gag and cough as the dry cotton rubs against the back of my throat. I hear a snicker of laughter from beside me and turn to see Lisa staring at me. I discreetly pull a middle finger up at her, making sure the doctor doesn't see.

"Okay, now that's done. Lisa's test should be ready," the doctor says, grabbing the vial and dipping a paper strip into its contents. After a few moments, he says it's negative. I sigh, relief flooding through me. Thank goodness. Now all there is to see is if I'm contagious.

He places a test strip into my vial...

"Well, Lisa, from my tests it appears you were never contagious to begin with. And this means, Jennie, you haven't caught anything from Lisa. Thus, it is safe for you to join the rest of your class," the doctor says, contorting his face and scratching his head apologetically.
