Rubbing my eyes, I groan, trying to shake off the fatigue. It's 10:30, and I'm still exhausted from going to bed at 5:00 am.
"Morning," Mai chirps, already dressed and drying her hair. "I finished my shower and cleaned up the bathroom, so feel free to go in."
"Thanks," I mumble, dragging myself out of bed. I grab my toiletries and head to the bathroom. Once in the shower, the warm water flows over my hair and face. I sigh deeply, feeling the remnants of yesterday's grime melt away. It was too hot last night; I might have to sleep without my PJs if it stays this warm.
I step out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around me, then make my way to my bed and fish through my toiletry bag for my body lotion.
As I continue my routine, I realise I haven't seen Lisa this morning. I turn to the side to check if she's still sleeping, and notice her bed is neatly made with no one in it.
"Hey Mai, where's Lisa?" I ask, curious.
"I saw her leave early this morning," Mai replies.
"Must be an early bird," I mutter, shrugging it off. I pick out my outfit for the day—a vest and shorts—and make sure to apply plenty of sunscreen.
"Come on, Jennie," Mai says, practically dragging me out of the bedroom and heading down to the dining hall.
"Look, Jennie," Mia gasps as we enter the dining hall.
"Wow," I respond as I stare at the breathtaking view of the ocean.
The dining area looks like paradise, adorned with vibrant flowers and greenery. My eyes immediately catch sight of the buffet, filled with a variety of fresh fruits, succulent meats, fragrant rice, and pancakes!!!
Mai and I, along with two other girls, Zoey and Hanni from our class, grab our plates and pile them high with food before finding a seat.
As soon as we sit down, I'm ready to stuff my cheeks. I take a bite of spam and exclaim, "This is so good!" Mai nods enthusiastically, her mouth full. The table is filled with contented hums and murmurs as everyone enjoys their meal.
