C O N T I N U A T I O N . . .
Lisa took a deep breath, choosing her words carefully. "Jennie, I've noticed you've been around a lot lately. I feel like you're always watching me, and it's making me uncomfortable."
Jennie's face tightened with hurt and confusion. "I didn't mean to make you feel that way. I just thought we were becoming closer friends."
"I appreciate your friendship, Jennie, but I need some space. It's starting to feel overwhelming," Lisa said gently but firmly.
Jennie nodded slowly, her expression unreadable. "I understand. I never meant to intrude."
As Lisa turned to leave, Jennie called after her, "Wait, Lisa. I heard your birthday is coming up soon. You'll be 27, right?"
Lisa was surprised. "Yeah, how did you know?"
"Rosé mentioned it the other day," Jennie said with a casual shrug. "I thought maybe we could celebrate together, if you want."
Lisa forced a polite smile. "Thanks, Jennie. I'll let you know."
As she walked away, Lisa couldn't shake the feeling that Jennie's gaze was burning into her back. She quickened her pace, eager to put some distance between them.
Jennie watched Lisa disappear down the path, her mind already whirling with plans. Lisa's birthday was the perfect opportunity to make her understand just how much she meant to Jennie. She would plan something unforgettable, something that would bring them closer than ever before.
The days leading up to Lisa's birthday were a blur of frantic preparations for Jennie. She meticulously planned every detail of her surprise, her excitement growing with each passing day. Her obsession fueled her determination, pushing her to the edge of rationality.
On the night of Lisa's birthday, Jennie put her plan into motion. She knew Lisa's friends were throwing her a party, and she intended to use the celebration as a cover for her true intentions.
Lisa's apartment was filled with laughter and music as her friends gathered to celebrate her special day. Rosé, ever the life of the party, made sure everyone was having a good time. Lisa couldn't help but feel grateful for her friends' love and support, but a nagging sense of unease lingered in the back of her mind.
As the night wore on, Jennie arrived at the party, her demeanor calm and composed. She mingled with the guests, always keeping an eye on Lisa. When the moment was right, she approached Lisa with a warm smile.
"Happy birthday, Lisa," Jennie said, handing her a beautifully wrapped gift.
"Thanks, Jennie," Lisa replied, accepting the gift. "You didn't have to."
"I wanted to," Jennie insisted. "I hope you like it."
Lisa opened the gift, revealing a delicate silver bracelet. "It's beautiful. Thank you."
"I'm glad you like it," Jennie said, her eyes glinting with a strange intensity. "Let's have a drink to celebrate."
Lisa hesitated but nodded. "Sure."
Jennie led her to the kitchen, where she had prepared a special drink just for Lisa. As Lisa took a sip, she felt a sudden wave of dizziness wash over her. Her vision blurred, and she clutched the counter for support.
"Jennie... I don't feel so good," Lisa mumbled, her words slurring.
Jennie caught her as she started to collapse, her grip firm and unyielding. "Don't worry, Lisa. I've got you."
The last thing Lisa saw before everything went black was Jennie's face, a mixture of concern and something darker.
When Lisa regained consciousness, she found herself in an unfamiliar room. The walls were adorned with photos of her, some candid, others clearly taken without her knowledge. Panic surged through her as she realized she was bound to a chair, unable to move.
