The phone buzzed on the kitchen counter as I finished making my morning coffee. Glancing at the screen, I saw my brother's name flash up, Taehyung. It had been a while since we last talked, and a smile tugged at my lips as I answered.
"Oppa! It's been forever," I greeted cheerfully.
"Jennie, how's my little sister doing?" Taehyung's warm voice resonated through the phone, filling me with a familiar sense of comfort.
"I'm good, just busy with work and stuff. How about you?"
"I'm fine, but we need to talk. I miss you, and I want to visit you."
I felt a rush of excitement. "You should! When can you come?"
"How about today? I have some free time," Taehyung suggested.
"That sounds perfect. I'll be waiting."
We said our goodbyes, and I hung up the phone, my heart lighter. It had been so long since Taehyung and I had spent time together. Growing up, he had always been my rock, and I couldn't wait to catch up.
Later that day, the doorbell rang, and I practically sprinted to the door. As soon as I opened it, Taehyung pulled me into a tight hug.
"Jennie! It's so good to see you," he said, his voice muffled against my hair.
"It's good to see you too, oppa. Come in, let's sit and talk."
We moved to the living room, and I could feel my happiness radiating. It was like no time had passed since we last saw each other. We talked for hours, reminiscing about old times and catching up on each other's lives. Taehyung told me about his recent travels and work, and I filled him in on everything happening with me.
"I miss these moments, you know," Taehyung said, his tone suddenly serious. "We should do this more often."
"I agree. Life gets so busy, but we need to make time for family," I replied, squeezing his hand.
"Oh, by the way," Taehyung added, "there's a family dinner tomorrow. I wanted to invite you personally. Also... Mom and Dad was missing you. Everyone will be there including jisoo."
"Really? That sounds great." I said, feeling a surge of sort of mixed emotions.

I walked towards the living room, planning to surprise Jennie. As I approached, I saw her sitting with a man. They were talking and laughing, and Jennie seemed unusually close to him. My steps faltered as I saw her resting her head on his shoulder, looking so comfortable and at ease.
Who is he? I wondered, feeling a knot of something unfamiliar tighten in my chest. Jealousy? Maybe. But why?
Jennie had been my captive for a while now, but in that time, I couldn't deny how beautiful she was. Her charm, her laughter, and the way she carried herself had started to get under my skin. Little by little, I found myself liking her more, though I wasn't sure if it was love. The feelings were confusing, tangled with guilt and curiosity. I'd never intended to feel anything for her.
Confused and slightly hurt, I decided not to interrupt. Instead, I sat on the couch, turning on the TV. The cheerful sounds of their conversation drifted over, making it hard to focus on the screen. I flipped through channels aimlessly, trying to shake off the feeling of being left out. And after seeing her like that with someone else stirred emotions I didn't quite understand.
As I sulked on the couch, I couldn't help but steal glances at them, wondering who the man was and why Jennie was so close to him. My mind raced with possibilities, but nothing made sense. All I knew was that I felt a pang of longing to be the one she was so comfortable with.

As the evening wore on, Taehyung glanced at his watch and sighed. "I should get going. I have some things to take care of before tomorrow."
I felt a twinge of disappointment but understood. "Okay, oppa. But before you go, there's someone I want you to meet."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow, a curious smile playing on his lips. "Oh? Who's that?"
"My special someone," I said, feeling a blush creep up my cheeks. "I think it's about time you met her."
Taehyung's eyes twinkled with amusement. "I'd love to, but I really need to head out now. Can we do it tomorrow at the dinner?"
I nodded, though I was a bit disappointed. "Of course. I'll introduce you then."
We hugged goodbye, and I watched him leave, feeling a mixture of joy and sadness. Turning back into the house, I realized I hadn't seen Lisa in a while. I walked into the living room and found her sitting on the couch, staring at the TV with a sullen expression.
"Lisa? There you are," I said, approaching her. "I've been looking for you."
Lisa glanced up, her eyes reflecting a mixture of emotions. "Hey, Jennie."
I sat down next to her, noticing how tense she seemed. Without a second thought, I climbed onto her lap. Lisa's eyes widened in shock as she tried to push me off, but I glared at her, and she gave up with a sigh.
"Why didn't you come and say hi? I wanted to introduce you to him," I said, looking directly into her eyes.
Lisa shifted uncomfortably but didn't deny anything. "You seemed busy. I didn't want to intrude."
I frowned, sensing something was off. "Lisa, what's wrong? You don't seem like yourself."
She took a deep breath, her eyes darting away from mine. "I don't know, Jennie. I saw you with that man, and... I just felt weird. Like, something. But I don't even know why."
Realization dawned on me, and I reached out, taking her hand in mine. "Lisa, that was Taehyung, my brother. There's nothing to be jealous about."
Lisa's eyes widened in surprise,"jealous?! Why would I be jealous? Besides, there's nothing to be jealous about because she was your brother after all," she said while looking away, not facing me.
I just smirked at her secretly. I wrapped my hands around her neck as she shifted uncomfortably, but I sat still. "It's okay. I should have introduced you sooner. But you have nothing to worry about. You're the one I care about." I said this while looking directly into her eyes and cupping her face. "And... besides, I didn't know you would be jealous."
Lisa's expression was cute, blushing furiously and stuttering. "I-i said I wasn't jealous!!!"
I just shook myself at her. "Ok-ok fine, you're not jealous, you said," while laughing at her until it died down.
We sat there in silence for a moment, sitting on Lisa's lap while i decided to hug her. The tension between us melted away, replaced by a comforting warmth. I leaned closer, resting my head on her shoulder.
"Let's not worry about it anymore," I said softly. "Tomorrow, you can meet Taehyung properly at the family dinner. They'll love you."
Lisa smiled, her eyes brightening. She just responsed at me simply "ok" as we spent the rest of the evening together, just enjoying each other's company. We laughed, talked, and even watched a movie, our bond growing stronger with each passing moment. And as the night drew to a close, I felt a deep sense of contentment. I was really happy that Lisa was gradually beginning to trust me and that my plan was continuing as intended.
No matter what happened, I knew that having Lisa by my side made everything better. She was my special someone, and nothing could change that. ever. . .
