The early morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the bedroom. Jennie lay in bed, her eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling. Her mind replayed the events of the past few days, the confrontation with Minji, the tension that had seeped into her relationship with Lisa. She felt a surge of anger at the thought of Minji's interference. Who did she think she was, trying to disrupt their lives?Jennie turned her head to look at Lisa, still peacefully asleep beside her. She felt a fierce protectiveness over her, a burning need to keep her safe from any threat. Lisa was everything to her. Jennie had worked so hard to create this perfect life, and she wouldn't let anyone take it away. Not Minji, not anyone.
Quietly, Jennie slipped out of bed, careful not to wake Lisa. She dressed quickly and left the house, her mind racing with thoughts of how to deal with the situation. The streets were deserted, the city still asleep. Jennie wandered aimlessly, trying to calm the storm inside her. She needed to think clearly, to plan her next move.
As she walked through a small park, Jennie felt a familiar, dark urge rising within her. It was the part of her she kept hidden, the part that had always been there, lurking beneath the surface. She had suppressed it for Lisa, for the sake of their relationship. But now, with Minji's intrusion, it was becoming harder to control.
Jennie found herself at a secluded spot in the park, away from prying eyes. She sat on a bench, clenching her fists, trying to regain control. She couldn't afford to lose it now, not when so much was at stake. She took a deep breath, forcing herself to think rationally. She needed to confront Lisa, to get the truth out of her. Only then could she decide what to do about Minji.
Determined, Jennie made her way back home. Lisa was in the kitchen, making breakfast. She looked up as Jennie entered, a smile lighting up her face, but it faded when she saw Jennie's expression.
"Jennie, are you okay?" Lisa asked, concern evident in her voice.
Jennie forced a smile, trying to hide the turmoil inside. "We need to talk, Lisa. About everything."
Lisa's shoulders slumped slightly, but she nodded in agreement. "Okay. Let's sit down."
They settled at the kitchen table, the smell of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. Jennie took a sip, trying to steady her nerves. The darkness within her simmered, barely contained.
"Lisa," she began, her voice cold and controlled, "I need you to be completely honest with me. Minji's words have left me with so many questions. If there's anything in your past that could affect us, I need to know now. I can't keep living with this doubt."
Lisa's eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and resolve. She reached out, taking Jennie's hand in hers. "Jennie, I understand your concerns. And I promise, I will tell you everything. You deserve to know."
Jennie squeezed her hand, feeling a twisted sense of satisfaction. She needed this confession, needed to know every detail to protect what was hers. "Thank you, Lisa. I just want us to be able to move forward without any secrets."
Lisa nodded. "Let's sit down in the living room. This might take a while."
As they settled onto the couch, Lisa took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts. "Jennie, before I met you, my life was… complicated. I was in a very different place. I made some bad choices, and I got involved with people I shouldn't have. Minji was a part of that time in my life."
Jennie listened intently, her mind racing. This was the leverage she needed. "What kind of people, Lisa?"
Lisa looked down, her expression troubled. "People who were into drugs, who had criminal connections. I never got deeply involved, but I was around it, and it affected me. Minji was caught up in that world, and for a while, I was too. But I managed to pull myself out. I realized that wasn't the life I wanted. I wanted something better."
