As the night wore on, Jennie's unease lingered like a shadow. Even in the safety of their home, she couldn't shake the fear that someone from Lisa's past could disrupt their newfound happiness. Despite Lisa's reassurances, a nagging doubt gnawed at her, making sleep elusive.

In the early hours of the morning, Jennie slipped out of bed, careful not to wake Lisa. She padded softly to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water, staring out the window at the quiet cityscape. Her mind raced with thoughts of the mysterious caller. Who could it be? What did they want?

Jennie's heart pounded as she recalled the look in Lisa's eyes-a mixture of surprise and concern. She had to know more. She couldn't let this unknown threat jeopardize their relationship. Determined, Jennie resolved to confront Lisa in the morning.

The next day, as sunlight streamed through the curtains, Jennie gently shook Lisa awake. "We need to talk," she said softly, her voice tinged with urgency.

Lisa blinked sleepily, sitting up and rubbing her eyes. "What's wrong?" she asked, her voice still groggy.

Jennie took a deep breath, steadying her nerves. "I need to know who called you last night. I can't stop thinking about it."

Lisa's eyes widened slightly, and she looked away, biting her lip. "Jennie, it's nothing. Just someone I used to know."

Jennie's patience was wearing thin. "Someone you used to know? That's not enough, Lisa. I need details. I can't stand not knowing."

Lisa sighed, sensing Jennie's distress. "Okay, fine. It was my ex-girlfriend, Minji. She called out of the blue, saying she wanted to talk."

Jennie felt a surge of jealousy and anger. "Minji? What does she want? Why now?"

Lisa reached out, trying to calm Jennie. "I don't know, Jennie. She said she wanted to apologize for how things ended between us. I told her I'm with you now, that I'm happy."

Jennie's mind whirled with questions. "Why did she call you? Did she say anything else? Does she want to get back together?"

Lisa shook her head. "No, she didn't say anything like that. She just wanted to apologize and maybe catch up. But I told her it wasn't a good idea."

Jennie's heart ached with insecurity. "I can't help but feel threatened. What if she tries to come between us?"

Lisa took Jennie's hands, squeezing them reassuringly. "Jennie, listen to me. I love you. You're the one I want to be with. Minji is in the past. She can't come between us unless we let her."

Jennie searched Lisa's eyes, seeking reassurance. Slowly, she nodded, though the doubt still lingered. "Okay. But promise me you won't talk to her again."

Lisa nodded without hesitation. "I promise. You have nothing to worry about."

As the days passed, Jennie tried to focus on the positive moments, cherishing the time she spent with Lisa. They resumed their daily routines, sharing laughter and tender moments. Yet, the shadow of Minji's call loomed over Jennie, a constant reminder of her insecurities.

One evening, as they were cuddled up on the couch watching a movie, Jennie's phone buzzed with a notification. She glanced at the screen and saw a message from an unknown number. Curiosity piqued, she opened it.

*Hey Jennie, it's Minji. I hope this isn't weird, but I got your number from a mutual friend. I just wanted to clear the air and make sure there are no hard feelings. Can we talk?*

Jennie's blood ran cold. How did Minji get her number? And why was she reaching out to her directly? Anger flared within her, and she immediately showed the message to Lisa.
