The morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across Jennie's living room. I had grown accustomed to the soft light and the comforting silence of her home. It had been weeks since I stepped outside, and though I found solace in the safety Jennie's house provided, a part of me yearned for the world beyond these walls.

Jennie must have sensed this because, over breakfast, she dropped the news that made my heart leap. "Lisa," she said with a smile, "how about we go out today?"

I looked up from my plate, eyes wide with surprise. "Really? You mean... outside?"

She laughed, a light, tinkling sound that always made me feel at ease. "Yes, outside. It's time you get some fresh air... What do you think?"

A rush of excitement and nerves washed over me. The idea of venturing outside after so long was both exhilarating and daunting. "I would love that, Jennie," I said, unable to keep the grin off my face. I stood up and hugged her tightly, unable to contain my joy.

"Okay, okay," Jennie said, returning my hug with a laugh. "Let's get you ready then."

As we prepared to leave, Jennie mentioned something that made me pause. "We're going to do some shopping today. You need new clothes and maybe some gadgets."

I frowned slightly. "Jennie, really, I don't need anything. I'm fine with what I have."

Jennie waved off my protest. "Nope, I insist. Besides, I want to spoil you a little. It'll be fun, you'll see."

Despite my reluctance, I couldn't argue with her determination. Jennie was always so sure of herself, and I trusted her judgment implicitly. We left the house together, her hand gently resting on my back as we walked to the car.

The drive to the mall was filled with light conversation and laughter. Jennie had a way of making everything seem so easy, and her presence was now my constant source of comfort. As we pulled into the mall's parking lot, my nerves began to bubble up again, but Jennie's reassuring smile kept me grounded.

"Ready?" she asked as we stepped out of the car.

I took a deep breath and nodded. "Ready."

The mall was bustling with activity. People moved in every direction, chatting, laughing, and going about their day. It was overwhelming at first, but Jennie kept a firm hold on my hand, guiding me through the crowd with ease.

We wandered through several stores, Jennie picking out various outfits and accessories for me to try on. Each time I tried to protest, she would shush me with a playful smile. "You deserve the best," she kept saying, her eyes sparkling with determination.

In one of the clothing stores, a woman approached us. She had a confident air about her that immediately put me on edge. "Hey there, handsome," she said, her gaze lingering on me in a way that made my skin crawl. "Haven't seen you around here before."

Before I could respond, Jennie stepped in front of me, her posture protective and her eyes blazing with a fierce determination. "She's with me," she said, her voice cold and unyielding.

The woman raised her hands in mock surrender, a smirk still plastered on her face. "Alright, alright. No need to get so possessive," she said before backing away with a chuckle.

Jennie's jaw was clenched, and her eyes followed the woman until she was out of sight. She barely spoke for the rest of our shopping trip, her usual cheeriness replaced with a brooding silence. Despite my attempts to lighten the mood, her demeanor remained tense.

We continued shopping, Jennie picking out more clothes and gadgets for me, but the joy had been sucked out of the experience. It wasn't until we finally returned home, laden with shopping bags, that Jennie seemed to relax slightly. She dropped the bags on the floor and collapsed onto the couch, a heavy sigh escaping her lips.

I approached her cautiously, unsure of how to address the tension that had been simmering since the encounter with the woman. "Jennie, are you okay?" I asked softly, sitting down beside her.

She sighed again, running a hand through her hair. "I just... I didn't like how that girl was looking at you."

"Oh," I said, feeling a bit confused. "But Jennie, you were there with me. I knew you'd keep me safe."

Jennie looked at me, her eyes filled with a mixture of frustration and affection. "It's not just about keeping you safe, Lisa. I care about you a lot. Seeing someone look at you like that... it made me feel so possessive. I didn't like it."

I reached out and took her hand, squeezing it gently. "Jennie, I'm sorry if I made you feel bad."

Jennie's expression softened, and she squeezed my hand in return. "It's not your fault. I just need to learn to handle my feelings better." She paused, then added with a small smile, "But it does mean a lot to hear you say that."

I smiled back, relieved to see her mood lifting. "You're always looking out for me, Jennie. I really appreciate it."

She stood up and pulled me into a hug, her arms wrapping around me tightly. "Just promise me you'll stay close to me, okay?"

"I promise," I said softly, returning her embrace.

Jennie pulled back slightly, her face inches from mine. Her eyes flicked to my lips, and I felt a flutter of nerves in my stomach. "Can I kiss you?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

I blushed, feeling shy and a bit overwhelmed. "I... I'm not sure," I stammered, my heart racing.

Jennie smiled gently, her possessiveness melting away into tender affection. "It's okay. We can take things slow."

She remained close, her arms still around me, as we stood there in silence. The warmth of her presence was reassuring, and I found myself relaxing into her embrace.
Kissing Jennie makes me feel both nervous and excited. It's a new sensation that gives me butterflies in my stomach, and I'm not sure if it's a good thing. I think I might need to consult a doctor.

The rest of the evening was spent in a comfortable silence, each of us content in the other's company. We sorted through the items Jennie had bought, and she made playful comments about how good I would look in each outfit. Her mood had lifted significantly, and her laughter filled the room once more.

As the night drew to a close, Jennie and I settled onto the couch, watching a movie together. I leaned against her, feeling the steady rise and fall of her chest as she breathed. There was a peacefulness in the moment that I cherished.

"Lisa," Jennie said softly, her voice cutting through the quiet.

"Yes?" I replied, looking up at her.

"I just want you to know how much you mean to me. Having you here, spending time with you... it's the best thing that's happened to me in a long time."

I felt a warmth spread through my chest at her words. "Thank you, Jennie. I appreciate how much effort you're putting into building trust between us. Your sincerity means a lot to me too, and I'm grateful that you're committed to making things right. It really shows how much you care."

She smiled, her eyes shining with emotion. "And I appreciate you trusting me once more and giving me the opportunity to put things right, Lisa"

As soon as she said that, I hugged her tight. We stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other's presence. The world outside might have been full of uncertainties, but here, in Jennie's home, I felt safe now. And as I drifted off to sleep that night, I knew that whatever the future held, as long as Jennie was by my side, I would be okay.
