Lisa stood at the door, her hand frozen on the knob, her eyes wide with disbelief. She stumbled upon was something far more unsettling.Jennie stood in front of the mirror, talking to herself. Her reflection seemed different—her eyes colder, her posture more aggressive. Lisa's heart sank as she watched, unsure of what she was witnessing.
"Jennie?" Lisa called out softly, stepping into the room.
Jennie turned abruptly, her eyes widening in surprise before softening into a smile. "Lisa, you're back early."
Lisa forced a smile, trying to shake off the uneasy feeling. "Yeah, I thought I'd surprise you. Who were you talking to?"
Jennie's smile faltered for a moment before she quickly recovered. "I was just... talking to myself. You know how I get sometimes."
Lisa nodded slowly, but the uneasy feeling remained. "Jennie, is everything okay? You seem... different."
Jennie sighed and walked over to the bed, sitting down heavily. "Lisa, there's something I need to tell you. It's something I've been hiding for a long time."
Lisa sat next to her, taking her hand. "You can tell me anything, Jennie. You know that."
Jennie took a deep breath, her eyes meeting Lisa's with a mixture of fear and determination. "Lisa, I have DID—Dissociative Identity Disorder. And Ruby... Ruby is one of my alters."
Lisa's breath caught in her throat. "What? Jennie, I... I don't understand."
Jennie squeezed her hand, her voice trembling. "It started when I was a child. I was kidnapped and went through a lot of trauma. To cope with everything, my mind created different identities. Ruby is one of them, and she's... she's been more present lately."
Lisa felt a wave of emotions crash over her—shock, confusion, and a deep sadness for what Jennie had gone through. "Jennie, I had no idea. Why didn't you tell me?"
"I was scared," Jennie admitted, tears welling up in her eyes. "I didn't want you to see me as broken or damaged. Ruby has always been the strong one, the one who protects me when I can't protect myself."
Lisa pulled Jennie into a tight hug, her heart breaking for her girlfriend. "You're not broken, Jennie. You're the strongest person I know. And I love you, all of you."
Jennie clung to Lisa, sobbing quietly. "I was afraid that you would push me away, that you'd think I was crazy."
Lisa pulled back slightly, cupping Jennie's face in her hands. "You're not crazy, Jennie. You're incredible. And nothing will ever change the way I feel about you."
As they embraced, Jennie allowed herself a small, victorious smile. Lisa didn't see it, but Jennie's mind was already working, planning. She was determined to keep Lisa by her side forever and eliminate anyone who threatened their relationship.
One evening, Ruby took control of Jennie's body, a dark sense of purpose guiding her actions. She had been keeping a close eye on Minji ever since the latter had returned from her trip to the USA. Ruby knew that Minji was still a potential threat to her relationship with Lisa, and she wasn't about to let that slide without threatening her.
After extensive searching and leveraging Jennie's resources, Ruby found Minji's location and ordered her guards to bring Minji to their secret hideout. It was a remote cabin in the woods, a place where Ruby could ensure that no one would interfere.
Minji was brought to the cabin, blindfolded and scared. When the blindfold was removed, she found herself face-to-face with Ruby, who wore Jennie's body but with a demeanor that Minji didn't recognize.
"Jennie?" Minji's voice trembled, her eyes wide with confusion and fear. "What's going on? Why am I here?"
Ruby smirked, enjoying the fear in Minji's eyes. "I'm not Jennie," she said coldly. "I'm Ruby, her other personality. And you're here because you're a threat."
Minji's confusion deepened. "A threat? To what?"
"To us and Lisa," Ruby replied, her eyes narrowing. "You think you can come between us. Jennie and I are always going to make sure no one can ruin our relationship, and I'm here to make sure that doesn't happen."
Minji's eyes widened with realization. "Ruby, this isn't the way to handle things. Jennie and Lisa's love is strong. I'm not a threat to that."
Ruby stepped closer, her expression hardening. "You might not intend to, but your presence alone is enough to disrupt things. And I can't allow that."
Minji backed away, her heart pounding. "Ruby, please, you don't have to do this. Let me go, and I promise I won't interfere."
Ruby's smile was chilling. "Promises mean nothing to me. I'm here to protect our relationship, and I will do whatever it takes to make sure Lisw would stay to me forever."
As Ruby's guards moved to restrain Minji, she realized how serious the situation was. She had underestimated the depth of Ruby's obsession and control. Now, she was trapped, and her only hope was that someone would find her before it was too late.
Jisoo watched Jennie storm away from Minji, her heart heavy with concern. She had seen the changes in her cousin over the past few weeks, and it worried her deeply. Jennie had always been passionate and strong-willed, but this new obsession was something else entirely.
That evening, Jisoo found Jennie sitting alone in their shared apartment, staring blankly at the wall. She took a deep breath and approached her cousin, knowing this conversation wouldn't be easy.
"Jennie," Jisoo began gently, "we need to talk."
Jennie looked up, her eyes tired and filled with a mix of anger and confusion. "What is it, Jisoo?"
Jisoo sat down next to her, choosing her words carefully. "I'm worried about you. You've changed so much lately, and it's not in a good way."
Jennie bristled. "I'm fine, Jisoo. Just dealing with a lot of stuff."
"I know you're under a lot of stress," Jisoo said, "but this isn't just about stress. Ruby's influence on you is... disturbing. She's making you act in ways that aren't you."
"Ruby is helping me," Jennie snapped. "She's helping me see things clearly."
Jisoo shook her head. "No, Jennie, she's manipulating you. She's isolating you from the people who care about you, making you doubt everyone except her. That's not help, that's control."
Jennie's eyes flashed with anger. "You don't understand, Jisoo. Ruby sees things that we don't. She knows what's best for me and for Lisa."
"Do you really believe that?" Jisoo asked softly. "Or is that what Ruby wants you to believe?"
Jennie looked away, her jaw clenched. "I don't need this right now, Jisoo."
"I'm only trying to help," Jisoo said gently. "I love you, Jennie. You're my cousin, my family. And I don't want to see you hurt or lose yourself because of someone like Ruby."
Jennie stood up abruptly, her fists clenched at her sides. "I don't need your help, Jisoo. I know what I'm doing."
Jisoo sighed, feeling a deep sense of sorrow. "Just promise me one thing, Jennie. Take a step back and really think about what's happening. Don't let Ruby cloud your judgment. You deserve better than this."
Jisoo hesitated, then decided to mention something that had been weighing on her mind. "Jennie, if this continues, I might have to tell your family about your behavior. They need to know what's going on."
Jennie's expression darkened, and she took a step closer to Jisoo. "I dare you," she hissed, her voice low and dangerous. "If you breathe a word to anyone, you'll regret it."
Jisoo was taken aback by the intensity of Jennie's threat. She opened her mouth to speak, but the words wouldn't come. She watched in stunned silence as Jennie turned and left the room, her heart heavy with worry and fear for her cousin.
