Beginning of Justice League Dark
Zander's P.O.V.
Me and dad are responding to a call about a woman about to throw a baby off a cathedral.
"Let us help you." Dad told the mother
"It's not my fault, I've given birth to the devil. It's the devil!" She told us.
"You're tired. Give me the baby. You don't want to hurt her." I told her
She screamed and threw the baby off the ledge and Dad caught the baby and grappled to a safe spot with her. The mom jumped and he told the baby sorry before we both took her to an orphanage and headed to the Hall of Justice. Where they now have Aquaman, Green Lantern John Stewert, Hawkman, and Martian Manhunter, I stood beside dad and watched the monitor with them.
"These crimes were committed by law-abiding citizens." Clark told us.
"They all claim to have seen nightmare visions beforehand." Diana told us.
"Any clue what's causing it?" GL asked
"No idea" Clark told him
"The one week I fill in for Jordan, and it couldn't be some hairy-ass monster?" GL asked himself
"The same pattern is repeating around the world, so there could be an overriding factor, perhaps a paranormal element."Diana told us.
"Are you talking about magic?" Dad asked her
"We've dealt with magic before Batman, Cerces, Felix Faust." Diana said.
"Don't forget about Trigon he was a nightmare to deal with on his own." I said and they all looked at me.
"Even Shazam's powers are based in magic." Clark told dad
"With as much as you've seen, can you rule it out?" Clark asked dad.
"The criminally insane don't need magic as an excuse. I recommend spending more time on the streets instead of flying over them." Dad said getting up and walking out of the room.
"He's even friendlier than they say." GL said and I chuckled at his statement and I left the room and went with dad after.
We went back to Wayne Manor and I was in the Batcave with Ace when dad came down with a cut on his face.
"Woah dad what happened?" I asked him
"Shaving accident, get your gear on we need to go meet someone." He told me and put his gear on
We went to go meet up with Zatanna Zatara a magician who is putting on a show at the Gotham Square Garden.
"We need to catch a whole show like this one day dad." I said looking up at him and he ruffled my hair and then I turned to see elephants explode into confetti.
"Cool" I stated and followed dad to see Zantanna
"I hope those elephants survived.You don't want PETA on your back." Dad told her as we came into frame.
"You're assuming they were real in the first place. How are you Bruce?" Zatanna asked dad
"I'm fine Zatanna. Busy. Do you know where me and Sparrow can find John Constantine?" Dad asked her
"No." She told him
"You must have some idea." I said to her
"We don't keep in touch." Zantanna told us.
"I know you two have history, so I..." Dad started to say than gasped.
"Dad?" I asked worried
"Z, Batman needs to talk with John. You've got to come along, too. It's important." Boston said to Zatanna
"Is that you, Boston?" Zatanna asked him
"Yeah, everything is, Boy, this guys mind is tough. Can't hold." Boston said and dad was back to normal after that.
"Dad, you okay?" I asked him
"I'm fine Zander." He said to me
"What is going on?" He asked Zatanna
"I'll tell you on the way to John's" She said and we went to the Batmobile.
I got into the backseat and Zatanna told us about Boston's background.
"Why did he feel the need to write on my walls like a child?" Dad asked Zatanna.
"Yeah he's sorry about that." Zatanna said
"Where is this address? GPS doesn't seem especially useful tonight" I said looking at the map on screen.
"It's not an address. The House of Mystery tends to move around. I didn't put the symbols in there from the GPS to find it. I wanted the house to come to us." Zatanna said to us
A tornado started forming and we got trapped in it so Zatanna did some magic to try and help us.
"Dad do something I don't think she can do this forever." I told him
The tornado then started chasing us and then we saw the House of Mystery appear, we hopped out of the Batmobile and ran toward it.
"Into the house." John said
"Z, you alright?" John asked Zatanna.
"Yeah, as soon as you get off me." Zatanna told John.
"I should have known you were the reason I'm not back in London enjoying a pint. The house always did like you better. Odd quartet for a road trip. To what do I owe the visit?" John said to us
"The League thinks that a recent spike in homicides may have a magical cause." Dad said to John
"What did Boston say now?" I asked John
"I'm not playing telephone between you three" John said and he casted a spell that let us talk to Boston.
"We online?" Boston asked and John nodded his head.
"Great. Sorry about the Batmobile. I hope your insurance was paid up. What, is there even a policy for something like that?" Boston asked dad and I laughed.
"If there was insurance the Batmobile then there should be on the Batjet because me and Robin basically blew it up."I Said and earned a glare from dad and Boston laughed at it.
"Hey, I told you not to do that, Orchid. Use a bloody door." John exclaimed getting scared by her
"I am glad to see you are well." Orchid said.
"How new is this one?" Zatanna asked.
"Not what you think. It's the magic of the house. Decided it wanted to experience humanity and gave itself a body." John said.
"A spirit whose existence is not its own, like myself. Interesting." Orchid said to Boston
"Powerful in true magic. Angry at John. This I understand, yet you still have feelings for him." Orchid said to Zatanna
"You exude pain. Your life is a patchwork of blackness with no time for joy. How do you cope with it?" Orchid asked dad.
"I have a butler." Dad told her and then she turned to me.
"You want to prove yourself and want to have fun with your friends more, how do you manage to have fun and prove yourself" She asked me.
"I just have to be myself and the rest just happens." I tell her after that John viewed the scenes and said that the house would drop us wherever we liked.
"Rama says we have to work together. Come on! It's a dream team. You, me, Zatanna, Batman and Sparrow, maybe even the Justice League." Boston told John.
"The capes and tights crew, useless against dark magic." John said and honestly I felt offended. John and Zatanna started arguing.
"We're wasting time. He's dead, and we accept the risks, so can we get to it, or do you two need a timeout?" I told Zatanna and John.
"Fine and dandy let's take a walk on the dark side than. Coming team?" John said opening the door and we soon left to our new location.
