Chapter 18

Zander's P.O.V

Dad was getting ready for his date with Selina.

"Look at you, making an effort."I told Dad.

"So wait, does this mean Selina is two-timing Batman with you, or vice versa?" Dick asked dad.

"Don't you both have something to do?" Dad asked us

"Nope." We both said

"Just thought of something else. Maybe she likes you both because you're both the same guy, only she doesn't know it." Dick said to him, and Alfred handed him some flowers.

"Thank you, Alfred." Dad said.

"There he goes. Bruce Wayne on a genuine date. Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" Dick said as dad left for his date.

Dick then turned to me and asked about me and Garfield.

"We just couldn't make the long distance thing work out, I was always too busy going out on patrol with dad to call him most of the time so we decided it was best to just stay friends instead." I told him, and he nodded.

"Well, you'll find someone else. Maybe they will be the one you stay with, but only time will tell." He told me, and I nodded

"Now, how about you go do your homework." Dick told me, and I groaned in annoyance.

"Why did I even agree to do homeschooling?" I asked.

"Because you didn't want to socialize with other people." Dick told me, and I left for my room with Ace following me.

A little bit later and after I got done with my homework dad came home and by the look on his face something bad happened. Alfred and Dick were also there, and we went to Thomas Elliot's funeral. I stood by Dick and Alfred, we saw Selina walk up to dad and hold his hand. The three of us smirked at them and then turned back to the funeral. The next night, I, dad, and Dick were in the Batcave.

"Knockout gas from a jack-in-the-box. Someone did their homework." Dick said.

"The knockout gas only kept him unconscious for 15 minutes. After coming to, Joker used the acid in his boutonniere to burn his ropes." Dad said.

"How do you forget about the boutonniere?" I asked.

"He didn't. He wanted Joker to escape. It was all planned so Joker would wake up in time to free himself, as Harley attacked. Then he ran to the opera, arriving just as Tom was killed." Dad said.

"So, the Joker really is innocent?" Dick asked him.

"This time. The events of the past months reach as high as Superman and as low as the Joker. All were set into motion by Hush." Dad told us.

"But why kill Thomas Elliot? He's got no connection to Batman." I said

"But he does... Did have one with Bruce Wayne. Hush knows Bruce Wayne is Batman." Dad said me and Dick stared at him in shock.

After that, Selina called him, and we both walked away to give him some privacy. We he hung up he turned around and both me and Dick were standing there smirking at him and then we turned back to the computer.

"We didn't hear a thing. What now?" Dick said as the alarm went off.

"Riddler." Dad said

"That C-lister? It's like they're all crawling out from under the carpets now." I said and got into the Batmobile with dad and Dick.

"It might be none of my business, but I want you to know we are both for this thing." Dick said to dad.

"Thing?" Dad questioned him

"You and Selina. Brucelina? Anyway, I think she's good for you. She makes you less intense." Dick said to him

"But if you're serious about her, you're going to have to tell her everything. Otherwise, it won't work." I said.

"You're both right," Dad told us.

"We are?" I asked him

"It's not either of yours business." Dad told us.

"Says the guy who keeps making out with her in front of me." I commented, and he gave me a glare through the rearview mirror. We stopped Riddle and me and Dick went back to the cave to train he was doing his gymnastics while I was punching and kicking the punching bag. Dick had his mask off, and I put my goggles on top of my head. Me and Dick saw the batmobile pull up, and both dad and Selina got out.

"You did it. You actually did it. Alfred, he did it! Hi, Selina. Dick Grayson." Dick said, walking over to her.

"It's good to see you again, Selina." I said to her

"Ms. Kyle, I've taken the liberty to prepare tea with assorted biscuits." Alfred said to her

"So everyone knows who I am?" She asked

"Just us and Damian, not Gordon." Dad told her

"Who's Damian?" She asked dad

"Robin, my twin, and he's other... son. You two are going to have so much fun." I said, and she turned back to dad, and a little while later, they went to a party.

And they've been fighting crime as a duo ever since. I've been mostly playing with Ace and doing homework, but dad figured out that Riddler was actually Clayface while Dick and Selina went to fight Scarecrow. 

Hush revealed himself to Riddler, and Dad and Selina broke up. I was upset about them breaking up because she made dad happy. I knew that dad might need some space, so I went to my room and got some sleep. Hopefully, nothing too bad will happen in the next few months.

I'm stopping this chapter here, I've been scheduled more at work, so I haven't been able to fully write a good chapter. Anyways I hope you enjoyed it, and I'll update again, probably Monday.
