Chapter 15

Zander's P.O.V

When we all got to Ritchie John ran over to him.

"Ritchie, who was it? Who did this to you?" John asked him

"Faust." Ritchie said

"Felix Faust. You sure?" John asked him and Ritchie nodded his head.

John went through some books and found a picture of Felix Faust.

"I give you wizard and asshole extraordinaire, Felix Faust. Hell, I should have put it together. Conjuring a whirlwind is just his style." John told us.

"The League had a run-in with Faust, but his location isn't in our database." Dad told him.

"Yeah, wizards don't make a habit of signing up for credit cards or social media. His grandly named Observastory of the Cosmos is hidden from the likes of you and Superman, but not from me." He said and begin to cast a spell to locate Faust.

"What's  happening?" Boston asked.

"If this was a computer, I'd say it's frozen." I said

"Felix Faust would take precautions against locator spells."Zatanna told John

"There's another way, but it involves a favor of someone that I don't have the best relationship with." John told us

"Someone ese dislikes you? Shocking." Jason said sarcastically.

"Your friend slips from the mortal plane." Orchid said walking into the room.

"Keep him alive and safe. Understand?" John told her.

"That is not my purpose." Orchid told him.

"I don't give a flying shag what you think your bloody purpose is. I order you to help him any and every way you're able." John told her and she nodded her head.

"Sparrow you stay and help her." Dad told me.

"Why dad? I was so looking forward to fighting someone." I told him and he pulled me away from everyone else.

"I don't believe that John's friend Ritchie is actually dying and since Alfred has been helping you learn medical stuff then I figured you should stay and help but also be on guard." Dad told me.

"Understood, but you and the other's be careful, and I'll see you soon." I told him and we hugged.

Dad and the others soon left and I walked around the library of the house of mysteries. Nothing looked interesting enough to read mostly mideveal magic and other ancient incantations. I did find one book that was about ancient ruins and civilizations, I picked tried to pick it up and read it surprised that my hand didn't pass through it like Jason's did with the stone. I went to the living room and sat down on one of the couches when I saw Ritchie and Orchid, but something wasn't right with Ritchie.

"Ritchie what are you doing?" I asked him and he ignored me and cast a spell that made Orchid step into the flame if the fire place and be destroyed.

"Why did you do that? She was trying to help you." I told him and he turned around to face me.

"Well kid I didn't need her getting in my way, like how you are." He said and started to cast a spell that trapped me in a bird cage and chains.

"A bird cage really? You think I don't know how to break out of cages." I said to him, and he just walked over to where the stone is while I struggled to get the cage open.

"Stop struggling kid it's only going to tighten the chains, and you don't know any magic to get yourself out." He told me and I glared at him,

"Ritchie, you're going to listen to me whether you like it or not. Open the door. Do you hear? Open it." I heard John say and the door was opened.
