Always Love You

Wooyoung woke up around three in the afternoon. He wasn't bothered by the fact that San left, but he was slightly disappointed. On the bright side, at least he got some sleep.

"Holy shit." He whispered in awe as he walked into the transformed living room.

"Does it look okay?" San nervously asked, referring to the decorations themed around the upcoming holiday.

"Did you just do this?"

"I did it while you were still asleep. Did you just wake up?"

"Yeah." He nodded, then sat on the couch. "Wanna know something crazy?"

"Yeah."

"I've never decorated my apartment for Christmas."

Hearing that gave San a slightly unsettling feeling. He wasn't sure if that meant Wooyoung didn't like the holiday, and if that was the case, this would've all been for nothing.

"Any reason?"

"Why would I when I've been alone all this time?"

"That's why this is a first for me too." San smiled.

"Oh, I see now." Wooyoung laughed. "You're doing this to try and make me happy."

"Well." His smile dropped as he began to trip over his words, not expecting to be exposed so quickly. "Kinda?"

Wooyoung was touched by the amount of effort San had put in. This was the person he knew and loved. If he continued to be this way, he was sure they'd be okay.

"Wanna watch a Christmas movie then?"

"What movie?"

"Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."

"In what way is that a Christmas movie?" San laughed.

"In what way is it not?"

"I guess I'll have to watch it then."

"Wait, what? What does that mean? Have you never seen it?"

"Nope." He shook his head.

"Have you read the books at least?"

"Nope."

"Yuck." Wooyoung cringed in disgust. "You think me being a stripper is gross? Never seeing Harry Potter is even worse."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." San rolled his eyes, finding the movie on a streaming platform. "Are you hungry, by the way? I went grocery shopping."

"Did you buy all my favorites?"

"Of course."

"I've been craving ice cream for the past twelve hours. Did you buy any?"

"Go look."

"No, I don't wanna move. I'm a cripple, remember?"

Within thirty seconds, Wooyoung had a bowl filled with his favorite ice cream on his lap.

"You know, I really shouldn't be supporting this as your first meal of the day."

"You love me, don't you?"

"I do." San nodded.

"Then zip it."

San always loved how Wooyoung would follow up his attitude with some sort of physical affection. Just the small act of putting his head on his shoulder drove him crazy.

But while San was suffering from intense butterflies in his stomach, Wooyoung was panicking. Just for a moment, he forgot that they weren't on the best terms. Sometimes you just can't help yourself when you know you're in love.

As the movie continued, they were more comfortable next to each other. It started with small gestures, then slowly progressed to Wooyoung's head on San's lap. There was a point where the younger was disappointed because he thought the former professor was uncomfortable when he got off the couch. But he came back with an ice pack to put on his fractured rib and continued to rub his arm.

"Wooyoung." San quietly said, playing with his long hair.

"Hmm?" He replied, keeping his eyes closed from the soothing feeling.

"I'm sorry...for everything."

Wooyoung turned on his back so he could look up at San, wanting to see his sincerity.

"What does that mean for you exactly?"

"I've been scared and stupid, and it's only made things worse. But when I'm with you, I'm always the happiest. This has just been a reminder of what I really need in my life."

"But it's an issue that I'm your ex student and a stripper, right?"

"No, I don't care anymore."

"Don't lie to me."

"It did for a while, I'll be honest. But I'm telling you truth, I don't care anymore."

"Why the sudden change? Was it seeing me like this, knowing it could've been avoided if you never would've left?"

"No, it was just seeing you." San couldn't believe he was getting slightly choked up, but he was filled with so much passion and regret. He'd never forgive himself for the things he said to Wooyoung. In fact, he would probably go as far to say that it haunts his brain.

"Sannie, why do you look like you're gonna cry?" Wooyoung dropped his bitter facade, feeling guilty for torturing the former professor when he had already forgiven him.

"Because I don't know what to do."

"With what?"

"I don't want us to rebuild everything just to fix what I did. I want you back now. I don't wanna take it slow or be friends, none of that. I want to hold you and take care of you every single night. I don't care that you were my student, I don't care that you're a stripper, I don't care that we fucked other people, because I just want you. I love you and only you. And I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for saying all those things to you. I'm sorry for lying, I'm sorry for leaving. But the truth is that I need you. I promise I'll never hurt you again. That's my new promise."

"It's okay." Wooyoung held San close as he whispered. "It's okay."

"I love you so much."

"I love you too, don't worry."

San lightly squeezed Wooyoung, careful not to hurt him. But that was everything he wanted to hear - just that he was loved in return. It was like a weight off his shoulders, because truthfully, he wasn't entirely sure.

"I wanna have a life with you. We can start fresh."

"You still want that?" Hearing that San felt that way, even after what happened, was enough to bring Wooyoung to tears. Turns out, he wasn't as unlovable as he thought.

"Yes, baby, I do."

Wooyoung gripped onto San's shirt, physically reacting to the butterflies in his stomach. He didn't realize how much he missed the name.

"Am I still your baby?" He whispered.

"Always." San stressed in a way that he was desperate for him to know. At the end of the day, he would always love Wooyoung no matter what. "And I'm gonna take care of you, okay? I promise, I'll never let anyone hurt you ever again."

"Okay." He nodded, wishing for nothing more.

"I'll make everything right."

"I know, Sannie, I know."

"I'm sorry again."

"It's okay, we'll get past it."

"I really hope so."

"We will." Wooyoung replied, wiping away his tears and then San's. "You love me, don't you?"

"More than anything."
