His Human Mate

Chapter 6

Ethan's P.OV
"That's Lake Ryland, I said while pointing out the lake near our house. "Wow! It's so nice", Davina said in awe. "I forget that this environment is new to you, you didn't have lakes in London did you?", Grayson asked. "No stupid, it is a really busy city", Davina replied.

That was one thing that I loved about her. She seemed like a shy girl but once she got to know someone she could be really sarcastic and sassy. She wasn't afraid to express her opinion, especially when it came to Grayson and I.

Grayson had told me about the 'wolf' Davina had seen. She was a human that did not know of the existence of werewolves. When we got home I would have to tell her not to go into the forest alone.

As we walked into the house I asked Davina if we could talk. She nodded and waited patiently. "I think he means alone sweetheart", Grayson said while smirking.Grayson winked at her and walked away. She looked at me suspiciously and walked towards me.

"Let's go for a walk", I said and took her arm. We walked along the outskirts of the forest. When we were a few feet from the house I pointed into the forest and said "Davina, you must never enter these forests alone, ever". She watched me warily and nodded slowly. "Why?", she questioned her tone suspiciously. "There are dangerous things in there, I told her. "What kind of things?", she questioned further. Damn this girl was curious. "Bad things", I stated in a tone that had a serious undercurrent.

I think she got the hint that question time was over. "Just promise me you will never enter that forest alone, 'especially' at night", I said putting emphasis on the word 'especially'. "Okay, I promise", she said.

With that we walked back into the house. "I'm gonna go take a quick shower", she said and began to walk away. "Oh wait, my mum said you would need this", I called her while going to retrieve the brand new IPhone 6 that we had gotten her from the kitchen drawer. "What is it?", she asked. I gave her the phone box and said "Welcome to California".

"I'm sorry I can't accept this. Your family has already been so generous as to paying for my flight and letting me stay in your home. How am I to ever repay you guys?", she asked. "I can think of one way", Grayson said while lifting his eyebrows up and down suggestively. "Ignore him, I insist you take the phone, what if something happens to you and you can't contact us", I said. "Fine", she grumbled while taking the new phone.
