*Grace's POV*

It had been a week since I arrived on Earth and began working at Aubrey's cafe. She and I were becoming really great friends, and for about a day now, I kept having the same recurring vision...

A rapist and murderer finds a defenseless young woman, ready to destroy everything good about her. However, before he can carry out his vile acts, Xavia emerges from the shadows, saves the girl, and stops him. The only thing I have to go on is that it occurs at night about two to three blocks south of where I work. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to do much of anything about it. So, I patrol the surrounding area, keeping my eyes and ears open for possible disturbances.

Since I met her that day, I can tell Aubrey is doing much better; it was hard for her initially, which is understandable. My boss was shocked, to say the least, by how fast I picked up on her lessons. About an hour after she trained me, I was able to waitress without her help, serving the customers that had arrived. That evening, when she closed the restaurant, I helped her pack.

Afterward, I assisted my friend in moving everything to her new apartment. Since Aubrey opened her cafe, she told me I was the first person to do the job successfully without writing customer's orders down. There have been several occasions where rude men and women alike have preconceived notions about my ability.

Like right now.

"Look, girl, there's no way a bimbo like yourself can do what you're attempting. Just write our order down, or we can all take our business elsewhere," The woman threateningly chastised me, though I didn't let her get to me.

"I understand your hesitation about your order, but I assure you, I know what I am doing," I reassured calmly and then proceeded to repeat the entire table's order. "The young man there requested Chicken and Waffles accompanied by a large glass of chocolate milk with extra whipped cream on top and some hashbrowns on the side. The young lady wanted the Classic French Toast with apples and milk. Your husband was conflicted between the Cheese Steak and the Greek Omelet but ultimately decided on the Greek Omelet and a Sprite. And for you, Ma'am, the Breakfast Wrap with black coffee and four sugars."

As I finished repeating their order, the look on their faces was priceless. I even heard Aubrey cackling in her office, making it really hard for me to keep a straight face, but... I managed in the end.

Given that the customers didn't have anything to say, I asked, "Now that I've proven myself to you, shall I go put your order in?"

The woman nodded silently.

When I reached the back area, Aubrey stood beside me while I gave the cook their order, handing the paper to him. My friend's smile remained on her face as she said, "I'll never get tired of you doing that; it's sooooo entertaining. The look on that Karen's face was everything I didn't know I needed today."

"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, and yeah, there are some people who need extra proof. Especially when they don't see stuff like that every day, but... the job is enjoyable; I get to meet many memorable people, you know?"

"I suppose that makes sense... I really don't understand how you keep your cool so well. If that were me, I would be fuming! Hell, forget about keeping my face calm; I'd probably snarl and roll my eyes at her, too..." Aubrey stated, and before I could respond, her phone rang, "I'll be right back."

I smiled at her comment, nodding my head.

As she took the call, I prepared the four drinks for my new table and brought everything to them. I returned to the spot I liked to wait around in. It gave me the perfect line of sight to all the tables, so I could silently observe the clientele in case they needed anything. I could also keep an eye on Aubrey when she was in her office, and the cooks were close, too.
