*Xavia's POV*

I woke up to the warmth of Grace in my arms, and the memory of our incredible date was still fresh in my mind. We had spent several hours together, holding each other, kissing, and touching—innocently, of course. Well... as innocently as possible, to be honest. It was as if we were committing to memory every part of who we were to each other.

The closeness we shared was intoxicating, and I knew I wanted to take things further, but... what I wanted most was for our first time to be perfect.

Grace deserved that most of all.

And I...

I would give it to her.

For now, though, just being with her and having our shared moments together was enough. However, when the time was right... I wanted to taste every inch of her that I could. I wanted to make Grace scream my name in pleasure... Eventually, that day would come, and regardless of that desire of mine, the evening we had was absolutely magical.

After our love confession, we merely held each other, kissed a lot, and discussed many things to get to know each other better. When Raziel spoke to me and said that he and Aubrey would be back soon, Grace and I had retired to our bedroom. I didn't expect us to both be a little tired, but... I realized that being in our human forms for an extended time had unforeseen consequences. Primarily, certain things about our innate supernatural beings got used to the different metabolisms and ways of life.

It wasn't bad, per se, but it is something to keep in mind, for sure.

Our excitement over being able to speak telepathically kept us up late into the night. We wanted to keep practicing to strengthen our bond even further. It was amazing to share thoughts and talk to each other like Raziel and I did. Knowing she was always with me, that I could mentally call out to her whenever, was utterly comforting, to say the least.

Grace became very tired a few hours ago, so I wrapped my arms around her and held her close. I told her to try to get some sleep, and it didn't take long for her to drift off. While she slept, I kept thinking about what I really wanted. Gently, I slipped out of bed, careful not to wake my mate up. Once out of bed, I went to the kitchen area and sat down, getting lost in my thoughts.

As much as I love being here with Grace, I want more. I want a place my mate and I can call our own... a true home where we can be together without any distractions or interruptions, a safe haven if you will. It's not that I have anything against Aubrey or Raziel; it's just... it's different.

Aubrey soon emerged from her room, yawning as she headed to the refrigerator to get some water. Grace's friend noticed me sitting down and came over to join me after she got her drink.

After glancing at me briefly, Aubrey teased, "You think loudly; no wonder I woke up."

I smiled and playfully responded, "Didn't you have to pee?"

"True," she laughed, then added, "Sometimes, I hate your stupid hearing... I just want you to know that." Her words made me chuckle, but she continued, "A penny for your thoughts?"

I wanted to ask her something specific before telling her what was on my mind. So, I asked, "Do you know what I am?"

"Yes. The daughter of Satan and Grace's mate." Aubrey answered without hesitation, and I nodded.

"And you're not afraid of me?" I pressed further, needing confirmation.

"Why would I be? You've never done anything to make Grace or me feel anything but adoration, love, and protection. You, hot stuff, aren't evil. I don't care who was part of your birth, you know?" Aubrey expressed herself, and her tone held nothing but pure honesty.
